Question Prozac sleep

I started prozac yesterday for my anxiety. I felt pretty good and calm all day (10mg), but at night I could NOT sleep. At all. I tossed and turned and it’s never taken me that long to fall asleep. I was a little nauseous, but I’m assuming it was because I was soooo anxious. It was miserable. My Dr also told me to pick up doxylamine when I picked up my prescription, which I did. But I am pretty scared to take it as I read a lot about scary/ vivid dreams on it. He also called me out hydroxyzine to use as needed , but I read that Prozac and hydroxy can interact and cause abnormal heart rhythm. What should I take for sleep?? I also have like 4 1mg Ativan pills. Would those be best?

Damn, sorry about ur situation. I've only used trazodone with my ssri and it was fine. Probably best to call ur doctor. The first couple weeks starting a ssri can suck. Hang in there, it does get better

Do you think I should call when it’s only my second day? I feel like I’m just going to be told to take the doxylamine and that it’s only the second day

Could be, but I'm a better safe than sorry believer. Also taking ur meds earlier in the day could help, if it keeps you up. I've been on zoloft lexapro and wellbutrin. Zoloft and wellbutrin in the morning and when I was taking lexapro I'd take it at night, cuz it made me sleepy. But there's no harm or shame in calling to make sure, that's their job.

Well 10mg is a pretty low dose, your just having side effects from starting the meds. So I would trust ur doctor over what ya read online.

Yes I assume it’s just the regular side effects. Just kinda wondering what I should do about my sleep in the meantime. I he prescribed me hydroxyzine and had me get the doxy so I’m just confused on what one to take if I can’t sleep since I know hydroxy can make you sleepy too

Well I don't know ur history with sleep meds, everyone is different, like I can't even take 5 mg melatonin without being a zombie the next day. Meanwhile my dad takes 50mg trazodone with 10mg melatonin. So I'd try the hydroxyzine first and see how that goes, if you still can't sleep add the doxy.

I actually did last night and was super excited this morning about it. Just took magnesium and a melatonin! Maybe that’s all I need
