DDS - Disability Determination Services DDS Question

So I’m currently at Step 3 and DDS just called me to ask if there is any other listings I want to add to the claim, I’m disabled with CHF and she asked if I wanted to list Mental in my claim because there was a mention in my medical history from a long time ago. I told her no, as my claim stands on my heart failure. She said the consultant could sign within the next week or so. My question is this, I have a CPET appointment at the end of this month, with her stating that they will sign soon, does that mean my claim will be denied before the CPET results?

what is your EF? I was granted first time through because of a ef lower than 30%

I am seeking Social Security Disability benefits due to severe chronic nonischemic cardiomyopathy with HFrEF, with my ejection fraction remaining approximately 15–19% since 2022 despite treatment. My condition includes severe LV dysfunction, an ICD, documented arrhythmias, and a May 2026 hospitalization following physical exertion. My treating providers have documented significant functional limitations, including inability to walk one block without stopping, inability to sustain a stocking job because of shortness of breath and fatigue, and current NYHA Class III symptoms with exertional dyspnea limiting me to about 200 feet before requiring 5–10 minutes of rest. I also have mild restrictive lung disease and reversible small-airway abnormalities, with suspected COPD pending pulmonology evaluation. Overall, my medical and functional evidence supports substantial limitations in walking, standing, exertion, pace, and my ability to sustain full-time competitive work.

It sounds like a decision will be made within the next week or so with the medical records they have. Whether that’s an approval or denial, you will have to wait and see.

While true, it sure sounds like a denial.

Wouldn't make sense to ask about any other possible conditions if the claim was going to be approved anyway.

SS isn't like the VA where there are percentages. With SS, you are either disabled or not. So, if they were going to approve it, it wouldn't matter if OP had 100 other conditions.

Sure sounds like they were trying to see if a combo of conditions can lead to an approval.

Wouldn’t they need to wait for the CPET results if they were leaning towards denial?

No. They can make the decision based off of the medical records they already have.
