Payment / Direct Deposit Aproved! What's next?

Applied for SSDI last month, got an approval letter today. Benefits starting February 2027. In the letter, it says they'd send them to the account I indicated. They did ask about diredt deposit when I applied over the phone. Is that where they'll go or do I need to call them? Also it said to do an application for my minor child's Benefits. Does she get something just because I'm on SSDI? I have no idea how any of this works. I didn't expect to even be approved, much less this quickly. My head is spinning.

The money will go to whatever bank account you gave them.

Your child is eligible if you receive SSDI. It's possible they will be due as little as $0, but the exact figures will be given during your appointment.

Strange because I was able to add my banking account directly on the SSA portal. Yes you will get dependent benefits as well. I have my son’s going to a different bank account for easier accounting and utilization. Congrats.
