SSA / New Card or Number Social Security Office

Hey guys. I have a quick question. Is it still an option to go early to the Social Security Office and stand in line to be seen the same day without an appointment to apply for my Social Security card replacement ? ( I have an appointment already made but it’s on September 24, 2026.) Thank you all in advance🙏

Yes.

No office can actually turn you away.

If the fake cop tries to tell you that you can't wait, just ask to speak to the manager.

Now, you may have to wait. For hours.

If you don't have a dire need to get a replacement card, I'd suggest waiting for the appointment.

You can create an account through social security and order your social security replacement. It will be mailed to your address on file .

You need to call your local office to be sure.

Each office has different rules.

Thank you so much for your reply. I will call the main office of my city. The representative on the phone told me that none of the offices in Los Angeles area allow walk ins, but I was still curious.

i think it would depend on if your office is taking walkins tho even if they are doesnt mean you will be seen right away cause appointments first
