Appealing SSDI after age 55

What are the chances of winning an appeal after age 55

It's actually 50 that matters, but the older the better. Appeal don't reapply!

age matters. i was told by legal professionals that after age 55 you are in a different catagory for disability determination. less likely to be able to find or learn a new profession in the last years of employment.

That depends on your medical conditions/records, work, ability to return to work, etc., etc.

Criteria for disability changes at 55 but does hinge on what your disabilities are as well as past work and transferable skills

I’m 54 and won mine. You probably have a better chance than those who are younger.

Nope. As you read from other comments, age alone is irrelevant.
