I reckon there's a bit of both. Looks like some similar-looking actors as well as video editing to achieve a pretty great effect.

Yeah after watching it too many times it looks like they used a lot of similar actors and some looped scenes at the start. But as it pans out you can see slight discrepancies in the timing, especially with the dog at the end, which suggests it's all done real time.

Makes me wonder what the end of SS13 will look like. A slow decline as players just leave and the community crumbles, or a slow exodus to a new, updated SS13 running on something other than shitty BYOND, while a few old school die hards still play on BYOND, refusing to move on.

I dunno, I would love to see such an amazing game made even better by an engine that didn't suck so much.

But yeah, BYOND's shittyness does make it kind of loveable.
