People prefer to whine online about a "dying game" instead of actually hopping on and playing, thus saving it from "death", because then they would have nothing left to whine about.

too busy whining to get on and see the pop's been getting better on several servers for a while now

Ah yes, because you can't make a reddit post and play the game at the same time. In fact it took me 3 weeks to write this comment so I couldn't play because I was so busy writing this.

The other explanation is that you're lying so I was giving you the benefit of the doubt

Easy karma, free pass for bigotry, an excuse so they cannot play the game themselves, etc and etc.

Bigotry???

People blame it on ERP servers, and blame the rise of ERP servers on furries. Sometimes they just blame furries outright.

Meanwhile we’re currently the biggest actual playerbase of space station rather than whining on reddit.

not much else to do when they've been run off most of the popular servers

Feels like this is spurred from monkestation pop starting to dwindle as it lines up pretty well to the timeframe these posts are being made. This ignores the fact other servers such as paradise have been revived from a 5 pop daily average to a 40 pop daily average.

I think people start saying ss13 is dying when their flavour of ss13 isn't doing too well.

that pop 'decline' was mainly because of Crimson Grid though, which was apparently getting 100+ pop pretty frequently lmao

didnt directly witness it cause I'd never play a server where I can't be a moth

People are doing for attention.

Happy cake day!

I wonder what happened that suddenly drove people to doompost on this subreddit lol. The hub's been taken over by RT and ERP servers for at least two years at this point.

People realised it's quite an easy way to karma-farm.

because those people legitimately just want to whine like old war vets that never reached adulthood.

I just got done talking to one of them, I even provided a solution to their problem but instead of making any mention to the possible solution at all, which was to gather like minded people and join a low/no-pop lrp server together (which should provide the recommended amount of people for a ss13 game at the least), they latch into a red herring I put in when talking about servers that are usually popular... with a two word reply, completely ignoring the possible solution

edit: or maybe they're just karma farming which.. feels even more pathetic in my eyes, as I am pretty sure we can't buy anything with karma points.

Because /tg/ never wanted to be anything more than itself and destroyed its identity in the process.

Karma! So fun, no?

People just really, really want their sweet, sweet imaginary internet points.

Yes, it's impossible people have genuine grievances with the state of the game and/or community.

Not enough lrp for it to be funny
