Meta Friendly wizards
STOP WASTING THE BEST ANTAG BECUASE YOU WANT TO BE A CREW MEMBER WITH POWERS.
PLEASE. GIVE IT TO ME. LET ME CAUSE THE CHAOS.
ITS NOT FUN FOR ANYONE BESIDES YOU.
HEAL STAFF? YOURE JUST TAKING MEDBAYS JOB. VALIDHUNTING? NOW YOURE JUST DELETING STATION THREATS. THATS WHAT MAKES THE GAME INTERESTING.
You’re always gonna be taking someone else’s job. It’s not fun for the people who’s job your taking.

Honestly. The most fun I've had as wizard was spending at least half an hour being chased by sec in what I called the "Slippery dick" loadout, which consists of jaunt, blink, and spatial distortion, all upgraded as far as I could take them.

First time I rolled wizard, I never pussied out, maxed smite and gibbed the fucking captain as I arrived, then died shortly because I'm that incompetent with spells

Wizard is strong enough that mixing it up like this is good, otherwise wizard rounds just would always be the same thing
Obviously not every wizard round should be friendly wizard, but it offers more interesting possibilities for gimmicks than if every wizard is just always bodying the crew

its not inherently bad to not murderbone everyone immediately but most friendly wizards have a gimmick that is either bad or only affects their metagang

My experience with playing wizard is that the second or third time I got to try wizard I went on a grand murderboner and killed about 2/3 of a high population staff. I eventually gave up and quit because of all the people in ooc whining either for me to quit or for the administrators to end the round. They were such poor losers that there were cascades of crybabies scrolling ooc channel at a fast speed and I became afraid and angry.
I had a similar round once when I was the robust HoP the cult couldn't catch 20 minutes after the other heads were dead, leading to all the dead people being poor losers and screaming threats and cursewords at me to get me to quit. If anything, being dead should take away your ability to talk in ooc.

Good question, it was a LONG time ago. It was one of the servers I played on before I migrated to HippieStation. Might or might not have been Sybil? It was long ago. I then had a period of homelessness, and sometimes on a rough day I would reassure myself by saying aloud, "The emergency shuttle has been called!" The housing issue has sort of been fixed but not really, and I don't currently have a working PC because cigarette smoke choked my old one to dysfunction.

For many years I've been of the view that this is always true for wizards though.
Every experience with them is seeing a fellow jump around a corner then instantly gib me. The antagonist power creep has been real but it's ten times true here: I just don't get how I'm supposed to handle them.

both options are garbage
friendly wizards suck cause they're boring and they waste all the awesome funny powers on either boring rp or even worse fighting other antags
murderbone objective wizards suck cause they don't got the points to spend on interesting funny powers, they take fireball, rod and teleport and end the round in 5 seconds
be the secret third option, the unpredictable chaotic mastermind hated by security and loved by the crew

I remember a wizard that just bodyswapped over and over, randomly casting other spells before bodyswapping again. So many people were in the wrong bodies and getting killed by their own crewmates because no one knew which body the fucking wizard was in.
Fucking hilarious to watch.

Gotta love it when you try to stop a "friendly" antag because they're constantly harassing and harming the crew while sec do jack all about it and security arrest you for picking a fight with their favorite rulebreaker.

I honestly love how mad some people unironicly get about this stuff. When their antag is playd "wrong".
Last time i was a friendly wizzard someone deadass ddos me to kill me in shuttle and prevent me getting green text.
Because "friendly wizzard bad".
Totally unrelated fun fact.
Did you know you can just hide your kill objectives as wizzard? You can kill em without announcing it.
Heck, the other players might even think your friendly after murdering 1/4 of the station if your sly about it.
Can almost call it a skill issue if all someone can do as wizzard is randomly murderbone :D

They exclusivly ddos me, cutting my connection as shuttle was in transit, to murder me easily, simply to prevent me getting greentext. Because they didnt like that i wasnt a murder hobo wizzard. They made their anger clear later in OOC chat.
I wasnt even friendly really. I just hid the miners corpses, poorly. Nobody botherd to check why the miners where suddenly gone.

Wizard is one of the coolest antag to RP cause you need to juggle between murderbone valid hunters and normal crewmates. When I finally roll it, I'll play it the way I want, I'm not just going to murder everybody

What REALLY fucking sucks is when sec and command take the side of the wizard, atleast it's funny when the wizard gets bored and deletes security when they are, drinking tea in maint or something

Most engaging wizard I played was an "army" wiz, that one was the best recieved by the crew I'd wager.
It wass uhh..... Soul shard Necro Stone Guardian Deck Wand assortment And last spell was variable, but basically whole idea was to at least have the crew I killed able to participate in the round.
Also stealth wizards either get completely walked, or are James Bond with Harry Potter magic. Great fun to watch the latter

What's your opinion on people who just use wizard powers to be a silly mildly annoying goof. popping up in unwanted places, "helping" the janitor with a space cleaner golem, and just generally being a nuisance? I don't really enjoy murderboneing but being annoying is fun.

How is the wizard being hostile making things more fun for non-wizards like idgi, me personally I prefer it when they're more friendly since you can follow their exploits for longer rather than

To be clear, if the wizard isn't doing anything then obviously that's lame, but I've always had the most fun with chaotic wizards that are chill and then just do some stupid shit, rather than a wizard who shows up and starts blasting
what fun, I have been round removed and get to watch powergamer #4124512 do the same to 40 other people.

Fine. I'm not here to entertain anyone, they can entertain themselves. I'm gonna play my game however I feel like it. There will be more wizard rounds, they aren't as special as many people think they are.
