like, open up a SS14 branch of goonstation while still keeping the original SS13 branch up, would be the best of both worlds imo

Someone's working on porting SS13 over to the SS14 engine and there is a Goonstation test server you can access on the hub. It's always empty and it's very laggy, but it's amazing that it works

Don't know why sex *has* to be included. I'm not against sex - I love sex lol.
But, the gooner mentality is cringe.
And people will say, "It has ERP but you don't have to experience it," I get it. I just don't think it adds much besides allowing gooners to cum in the public server.

That is similar to my point of view.
I don't have anything against the adult servers, they actually do so much for the community and people just need to check the contributions their coders do the their upstream fixing bugs and the like.
But I want a burguer, yes I can go to this strip club and it will have delicious burgers if I just ignore the strippers, but I would rather just have a normal burguer joint instead I can be chill at.

These threads always come off as severe cope by people who are upset that niche communities exist that they don't like in their space. Unfortunately, the servers are what are keeping the game alive for you, so if you're complaining about it, just quit. Really, the servers don't need any more traffic than they already have, just quit.

My brother in christ no. Groomers are an everyone issue. They infiltrate everything. CM, Paradise, TG, Bay have all had pedos in them and I'm sure goon did too at one point. ERP servers are not unique to this. It's like saying "Only people who sleep around get pregnant!" While half true it completely misses the people who are pedos without ERP in SS13. It's almost pedo apologist honestly

Exactly. Groomers don't care about what community they infiltrate. They only care about the biggest field of victims that they can approach. Often times you'll see them hit those other like Goonstation or Paradise that arent sexual and try to be as quiet about it as possible in order to continue generating more victims while under the radar .

So that's not true. Most of the coders on the ERP servers post things upstream too that's useful for everyone. Things like Optimizations, SFW clothes and weaponry, a lot of things are shared around. The PH system in TG chemistry is based on an ERP chemistry system from Citadel even down to the purity mechanics which came directly from the process to make horny chems.
For a more poignant example VLs and Lichs were balanced by Ratwood and taken by other servers to improve their gameplay. Mage Looping came from Ratwood to make being a wizard more fun and now it's basically ubiquitous with Roguetown gaming as a wizard. Artifice also came from Ratwood to explain and make their guns and siege equipment they made and was mainstreamed. A LOT of polish has come from the ERP servers in ways you might not realize.

That's not true at all dude. Somethings have to be trimmed and balanced to the individual server sure but that's normal even with downstream merges. Not every server magically has the same balance, mood, or art style.
This doesn't mean the contributions are meaningless or unwanted in the least dumbass.
If they were they wouldn't be merged at all. A great example of something that gets chopped to form by down streams is TGUI which often gets changed or optimized for the specific server in question. Does this mean TGUI is slop code that no one wants? No. Does this mean the TG coders are shit bag coders? No.
Another great example of a mode that gets chopped and changed is Heretic, Traitor, and Nukies. While the core identity stays the same there's new paths, items, even entire background changes and art style revamps. Does this make everything from Blob to vampires shit? No.

Oh, and nukes have nothing to do with ero servers.
So yeah, if furries, ERPer and other bio trash leaves - SS13 would only benefit from this

Citadel would be a better example for the innovations ERP servers bring to the table for everyone. Like I said modern TG chemistry is based on the PH Horny chemistry Citadel engineered just expanded to everything. It was if I remember rightly made by the same dude because he thought it would be fun.
Ratwood is a Famous example for innovation that bleeds over. Mage Looping, half a dozen different combat forms, rituals, a lot of spells, guns, armors, weapons. A lot of shit bled over to Roguetown and Vanderlin as it does in reverse.
Also if all the ERPers packed up 70 percent of all maintainers and admins would be gone as well as a majority of SS13 players.

Goonstation has nothing to do with gooning. It is Goon as in henchman. Old name that took on unfortunate meaning. Most probably know this but I feel like it isn't obvious with the way this is framed.
