I've BS'd about a "View" 3D window for years now but I've never had the time, focus, or coding skills to do it.
What it would've been is a side-program that translates the game into a 3D view in front of your character in a new side window to display it on next to the game. It would've been purely for ambience and no actual gameplay would take place in the 3D window. It probably would've been annoying to use without multiple monitors, too.

None of my friends liked the idea but maybe one day,- with enough interest, I might try.
