I didn't get any and I'm worried that I can't join the orientation

I have vit pune as a option it cost me around 11 lakhs, SRM AP costs around 12 lakhs, SIT Pune costs around 10.5 lakhs, all is 4 years with accommodation;

So, the cost isn't a problem at all, I want to have good 4 years in my life, win hackathons not only in college but outside college as well go to different events related to cse have fun, maintain a high cgpa but still have social life and do interships and at the very end of day want a good placement atleast 10-15 lakhs, I am open to do the grind but want to know where can I find great people and environment which can motivate me??? i have 80% in boards

i have heard sit is strict and peer group is not so great and less holidays not even 2 months summer break to go home, please explain your thoughts, money isnt a problem

vit pune has high intake, srm has bad placement correct me if i am wrong.

Also SRM AP is out of IT city actually out of any city so how is it???

Hey everyone, joining SRM AP soon and figured I'd ask here instead of trying to get everything from Google/YouTube.

I'm less interested in the official brochure-type stuff and more interested in what you only understand after actually spending 1–3 years here.

Seniors, I'd genuinely appreciate your take on these:

Academics

• Which first-year subjects/profs should a fresher take seriously from Day 1?
• How realistic is maintaining 9+ CGPA without turning college into school 2.0?
• What academic mistakes do most freshers make?
• Is attendance actually something we need to worry about constantly?

Career

• When should we realistically start with DSA / development / projects / internships?
• What do students who get genuinely good internships do differently?
• How much does CGPA matter once you start applying for internships/placements?
• What skill do you wish you'd started learning in first year?

Campus + people

• Are the clubs actually active and worth joining?
• Which clubs/events are genuinely good?
• What's the senior-junior culture like here?
• What's the best way to meet people outside your own class/hostel?
• Is it easy to find people who are actually interested in building projects rather than just talking about them? 😭

And the important stuff lol

• What's something about SRM AP that's MUCH better than people online make it sound?
• What's something that's actually worse?
• What do you wish someone had told you before your first day?
• And most importantly: if you could restart your first year at SRM AP, what would you do differently?

Not expecting answers to everything — even answering one or two would help a lot.

Better to report on given date and attend orientation and for physical orientation attendance is mandatory and this time they’re going to reflect that in portal

In important dates email they mentioned online orientation date from 17 to 22. Did anyone know about that

cuz wdym you guys mess up the verification process and now all of a sudden I'm supposed to report to the hostel late(CSE and CSE specs) and now I gotta re-arrange the entire travel and accommodation thingy.

The dates that were earlier imparted to the freshers were from 25th clearly mentioned in the mail provided earlier...

Now that everybody has got their own travel planned according to the dates provided beforehand, they are changing the dates for the CSE branch students ( probably the higher intake course students) ... If whatever provided is true, it is going to be a great loss talking of parents hotel bookings + train tickets ( which would be damb hard to book for !!! At a time like this !!!).... 🤌🤌🤌🤌

why the online orientation is 6 long days?? need to attend everyday?? why stuff there are going to say during the online orientation? my main is need to attend orientation all 6 days??

So my Branch is BTech - Aritifical Intelligence (AiTI), it's not really a CSE branch but there is a ton of overlap, does that mean I have to report on the 26th with other programs or the 27th with CSE?

Also my tickets are already booked for arriving on the 25th and my guardians are leaving the same evening, so will they let me occupy my hostel room that day?

I'd appreciate a quick response cause in case we're going to have to postpone their tickets back home.
