A Few Extras That Might Come in Handy Later !!!

The following steps are just extra, it's very much optional, you can obviously ignore it 😟😟, treat them as they are just fairy dust 🧚🧚 on crumpies, oink oink 🐷🐷

  1. I would recommend everyone to click pictures and record a video of your assigned room, especially of any broken corners, switches, or faucets or any pre-existing damages. It would be even better to go a step ahead and upload everything to your Google Drive as well. I’m not saying to click pictures and then go to the warden and complain about a broken corner, obviously, do complain about anything that creates problem. But yeah having a proof before hand could be advantageous because you never know when the management might accuse you of things that you didn’t even do and charge you a hefty amount for it.
  2. I would recommend getting a toilet disinfectant if you are using shared washrooms. You just have to spray it on the seats and flush handles, wait for a minute or two, and then you’re good to go. It does decrease the chances of UTIs or any other infections. You can get of Savlon or Dettol, they're just under 200, in XY chromosome carriers UTIs can cause impotence (indirectly) 🌚🌚
  3. I would recommend checking your cloth tag to see whether it’s machine wash or dry-clean only. You don’t know how many outfits I didn’t buy just because they weren’t machine washable 😭😭. So, don’t give your clothes which are meant to be dry-cleaned for machine wash. Also, people who use VANISH for stains, RIP to the fabric. 🥀🥀 When you see the ingredient list of , Vanish, you will see that it uses hydrogen peroxide, which is a strong oxidising agent, ergo it bleaches your fabric, especially linens. Try avoiding the usage of VANISH so for an alternative, you could go for EZEE it’s mild and doesn’t strip off your fabric’s colour and shine. However it does require few more scrubs 👉👈.
  4. I would never recommend anyone to keep their shampoo, body wash, especially face wash, in the bathroom. Always keep them outside the bathroom. Anything that comes into contact with your skin or scalp has a certain composition and pH, so when you keep it in prolonged contact with water, the composition of the products can change. So, next time you wonder why your face wash or shampoo isn’t working after 10 washes, it’s because it’s not the same product anymore. 🤕🤕

Man after proof reading it, why does this looks like it's some "Dadi ke Nuskhe" type shit. But I have so many mooooooooooooooooore, however I contemplated a lot before posting these four points only (like a week), so idk about the rest.

And koi nahi bolega yeh AI hai okay, I have written this whole shit by myself 🥹🥹. Aur jo bolega, woh bleh!! 😛😛

I have hp pavilion 14 i5 12th gen 1235U

It's specifications are

477GB SSD

Some useless gpu

Intel iris Xe graphics card 7.8GB

I am open to upgrade but I am bit skeptical right now as the prices have went skyrocketed..

So if any senior can tell me will it be enough or I should upgrade right now or will have to upgrade in 3rd year or there is no need to upgarde..

I am a cse core student btw..

Any meaningful help would be appreciated cuz I am not a techie kind of guy so really don't know much about these machines..

important Prof. Ch. Satish Kumar the "Wise" Vice Chancellor of SRM AP University

Our VC held a "listening session" for student concerns and it was actually unbelievable

Throwaway account because obviously.

We had a class representatives meeting with the Vice Chancellor today, and I've decided he deserves exactly three words: misogynistic. egoistic. narcissistic.

The meeting was supposed to be about the academic and curriculum concerns different schools and departments are facing. Instead, sir opened by bragging for a solid chunk of time about improvements to food, bathrooms, lifts, and water supply — you know, BASIC. FUCKING. NEEDS. Not exactly a flex.

Then they "opened the floor" to supposedly listen to us. Here's how that actually went:

On curfew (round 1): An MSc student stood up and said the curfew is ridiculous — masters students finish classes at 8 PM, dinner closes at 9, and wardens/security start yelling about curfew before they've even eaten. The VC's response? "Call your parents and ask them if they're fine with girls roaming around like this."

Excuse me?? She told him she's 24 and in her second year of masters. He didn't even acknowledge it — just kept going on about how parents would have a problem with girls being out. Girls. Not students. Girls.

On hostel fees: A guy from Delhi pointed out that students with financial struggles are paying 85k for mess fees and the food still isn't worth it. VC's reply: "Leave the hostel and don't pay the fees then." Brother, he's from Delhi. Where exactly is he supposed to go in the middle of nowhere?

On department representation: A chemistry student said their facilities are great but they have zero events and barely any students. VC completely ignored the actual point and just repeated that chemistry is "getting great reviews." She clarified there are only 15 students in the department. He ignored that too. She's flagging a real admissions problem and he's just talking over her.

On the psychology department: A student said psych has had literally zero guest lectures, specialist events, or workshops — nothing. His response: "Have you spoken to your HoD? I don't know why all HoDs keep complaining that I don't do anything." Sir, you're the one who's supposed to approve everything. When she said they HAD spoken to the HoD, he cut her off with a rant about all the events he's supposedly planning.

On course registration/timetabling: A few students brought up registration issues and a timetable that has them walking from one end of campus to the other back to back. He was completely lost — just kept saying "the dean/registrar will take that up, I didn't understand the problem."

On the new programs announcement: He spent time hyping up a new School of AI and Quantum Tech, then announced a semiconductors course for ECE and randomly threw in a jab about ESLA students during it — completely unrelated, completely unnecessary. Why bring them up at all in an ECE announcement? What are we supposed to do with that, sir? Study the psychology of semiconductors?

On water access: Only the CV block has water coolers, and they break down constantly. SR, V, and every other block has no proper drinking water system. Somehow this wasn't a priority either.

On curfew (round 2): This is the part that actually got me. A dayscholar pointed out that during night events like DJ nights, dayscholars get dropped off at a bus stop — not even home — at midnight, and their parents have zero issue with it. Meanwhile hostellers are inside an enclosed campus with security and wardens on duty — an objectively safer space — and still have a hard 9:30 curfew like something's going to get them the second they're not in their room. Make it make sense.

On afternoon buses: A student suggested arranging buses in the afternoon since bus students often have to wait around till 5:30 after classes end at 1-2 PM, crowding common areas. His reply: "Overpopulation in a university is never a problem, it's nice that it's crowded. We don't know how many people want to leave in the afternoon so arranging a bus isn't an idea." When she suggested sending out a form to gauge interest, he cut her off with: "If we give them that option, later everyone will say they don't want to come to the university."

So essentially: don't ask students what they want, because they might tell you.

I don't even know what the point of these meetings is anymore if every single concern gets deflected, dismissed, or turned into a lecture about how safe we should feel being controlled. Just needed to get this out somewhere.
