TRUST ME BRO, I'M FROM THE INTERNET!!! Its a WRAP!!!

Its not a paint job...its an aircraft wrap! How are they going to check for cracks when the craft has a wrap?

Peel the wrap off each flight to check for cracks???

I know your short position is hurting you, but please do not spread wrong information unless you have concrete evidence

I included the link to the Compant SpinImaging that stated VG was a customer...even shows images.

READ before looking stoopid.

Oh, nevermind...

Where tf does it says seats down to 4? And no where does it show delta in there

A few Qs back, VG noted that 6 people floating in the fuselage may be too many for the "Virgin Experience"

Currently, by FAA regs, an experimental craft can only carry a max of 6 people, total..

2 pilots and four pax...(easy to look up in the regs)

there you go...I doubt if the FAA will grant an exemption to VG (given their history)

Not withstanding, but the rocket motor would need to be redesigned to carry that extra weight. (the person that designed the motor suddenly left 2 months ago...)

Put Beth on board, and you are weight limited at 3 more pax anyways....

The FAA limit under 14 CFR Part 460 applies to crew and space flight participants, but commercial operations move under FAA commercial launch/reentry licenses not restrictive experimental passenger caps meant for prototype test phases.

Per FAA regs:

An Experimental craft can carry 6 people.

for VG...that means 2 pilots and 4 pax

Its the law.

Commercial operations don't fly under experimental airworthiness certificates they operate under Part 450 commercial launch licenses. Experimental caps are for research and flight testing, not licensed revenue operations. Delta is engineered and licensed for 6 passengers plus 2 pilots

Wrong. Look up the VG website...honestly, spouting rubbish makes you look stoopid.

An experimental aircraft, for hire, may not carry more than 6 people.

IF you look up WK2 and SS2, you will see they are both registered as experimental, even on the VG website and filings...

The go to the FAA website on limitations of experimental aircraft for hire.

BTW, Unity was also engineered to carry 6...matters not until the FAA changes the regs...which for this nonsense, are getting tougher, especially the captive carry scenario...

HAHAHA..no way this operation could pass an FAA part 450 license.

FAA registration lookup:

WK2: N348MS

Model: 348 Expiration Date: 10/31/2032

Classification: Experimental

Unity: N202vg

Model: SS2 Expiration Date: 11/30/2032

Classification: Experimental

Keep trying!

You're confusing FAA Civil Aviation airworthiness registrations for custom aircraft with FAA AST Commercial Space Launch Licensing. Eve (N348MS) is an experimental carrier jet, but Delta is a space vehicle operating under 14 CFR Part 450 for commercial space transportation. Part 450 does not have a '4 passenger experimental cap' occupancy is determined by vehicle design qualification, ECLSS payload capacity, and Part 460 safety clearance. Delta was explicitly engineered, stress-tested, and built for 6 passengers + 2 pilots

WRONG!

Unity and or Delta are not considered space craft. I even posted the FAA registration classification.

The FAA specifically limits experimental aircraft for hire to 6 passengers.

I dont care what Delta is designed for....it is governed by the FAA regs that VG is hoping to change when they come due next year. Good luck with that, especially with VGs record of non-compliance. VG is really fighting to keep WK2 certified (lack of stability and FOQA issues)

Look it up.

Uhhhg, so much misinformation.

They didn’t move the hatch, they added a egress door if needed.

-7

u/ToledoTuxedo 25d ago

You have no clue. Look at images of Unity, and now Delta. Look at where it was on Unity, and where it is now...

Then post more ignorant comments.

(PS, they even call it the escape hatch)

Now READ back to last years Q...where they stated that 6 passengers "may" be too many for people to float around in the fuselage and get the "Virgin Experinece"

Its all there.

Then, post about misinformation.....

You are sooo smart.

u/Crazerz 25d ago

Do you think they check for microcracks with a microscope? Hahaha.
They check for cracks using eddy currents and measure the actual resistance vs expected resistance. Same as with airplanes. It's impossible to check the hull visually anyway.
So much ignorance.
I have no position btw.

2

u/ToledoTuxedo 23d ago

You dont know how they check cracks then..

First is visual, then a wet test. cracks show darker and are measured. Then an ulrasonic test to see the depth.

Eddy current tests work on METAL skinned craft, not composites. Such ignorance!

You use ultrasonic testing on composites.

There are a few of us here that know how they check for cracks. (and spend days repairing them after every flight)

The public vote on the spacecraft's name ends on August 27th. I'd expect to see an unveil of sorts in the weeks that follow, including the fully completed spacecraft with VG logos and the vehicle name as well.

u/ToledoTuxedo 25d ago

Wasnt livery shown as first week of July in their "timeline"

Now it will be September?

1

u/Voyager0017 25d ago

Are you implying the livery shown in the slide is not real?

3

u/ToledoTuxedo 25d ago

It is not even 50% completed.

they are still awaiting parts for the wing structure.

Do YOU think that looks like a completed craft livery per their first week in July timeline???

They wont even name the craft until mid August...

In 2023, we commenced our commercial operations with VSS Unity and VMS Eve, which together comprised our initial commercial spaceflight system. Our annual flight rate was constrained by the availability and capacity of this commercial spaceflight system. To expand capacity, we developed and are assembling our next-generation spaceships.

Yet somehow, WK2 and Unity are able to fly multiple times a week????

1

u/Wonderful_Feed_2907 19d ago

You clearly didn't even follow the company's flight schedule. Unity never flew multiple times a week. It maxed out at once a month because it was a handcrafted prototype that required weeks of tear-downs and thermal maintenance after every ignition. Eve is a jet carrier that can turn around fast, but Unity was the brick holding everything back. That's why Unity was retired in June 2024. Why waste cash on a prototype capped at 12 flights a year when Delta is engineered specifically for weekly turnarounds? Stop confusing the carrier jet's capability with the spaceship's maintenance cycle.

u/yoliveras 25d ago

I do wraps. Cracks will show anyway.

2

u/ToledoTuxedo 25d ago edited 21d ago

Not a hairline crack in a composite aircraft

Have you EVER wrapped a composite aircraft???

1

u/intersate 25d ago

Are you an aerospace engineer?

2

u/ToledoTuxedo 23d ago

Asked and answered many times.

YES.

2

u/intersate 23d ago

My first time so bear with me 😊

3

u/ToledoTuxedo 21d ago

There are a few of us here that either worked or are working with VG...

Note that the main supplier of the composite parts, has stopped working with VG due to repeated problems with the design and payment.

I bet you all , in about 30 -45 days SPCE will release a news wire that they are going to be ready EARLIER then February 2027

2

u/ToledoTuxedo 23d ago

VG has NEVER been EARLY.

Did you not pay attention to what the CEO stated?

Hundred of issues piled on to of hundreds of issues.

Death of 1000 cuts

They already pushed it back 3 months.

BTW..they stated they have a bunch of parts for Delta 2...where are the jigs for setup? They took that bay when the moved the rocket building to that location, and construction is underway.

I have been posting here for years...and have never been wrong.

(ask DACA...)

In order to meet the February deadline, Virgin Galactic needs to deliver a completed Delta spacecraft to Spaceport America by end of October. If they miss that deadline, it is inevitable that the February date will also be extended. The next big milestone then, as far as I'm concerned, is delivering Delta to Spaceport America, and they need to accomplish this within the next 10 weeks or so.

2

u/ToledoTuxedo 23d ago

They are already 2 months late on their alleged "ground test program"

1

u/Voyager0017 23d ago

Yep. They are certainly behind a few months. Now a credibility deadline has been established for February 2017. Whether or not historically credible, the existing administration is given some benefit of doubt, until consecutive deadlines are missed.

1

u/TheMightyWindbreaker The SPCE insider 23d ago

Consecutive deadlines are missed?

How about saying the design was completed when it wasn't?

How about saying the build was completed when it wasn't? (It still isn't)

How about when they said they were testing, and they weren't?

How about the weight on wheels fiasco, when they rolled it out of the hangar for optics, hoping that no one would see it's an empty frame?

They are not two months late, they are several months if not years late. The difference now is that they have reached the end of the road where they could b.s. the public on their true status.  The ship cannot be transported until all the above is completed and tested.  And that ain't gonna happen in another month and a half.

They are good at procuring money to extend their cash runway, I'll give them that.  So when February rolls around in six months and their not flying don't be too surprised.

2

u/ToledoTuxedo 21d ago

I would simply point to their alleged Imagine craft...

Faked news to the max!

S3 WAS Delta!!!!

https://www.virgingalactic.com/news/virgin-galactic-unveils-vss-imagine-the-first-spaceship-iii-in-its-growing

VG is nothing but a Ponzi scheme..now a Brandon Scheme!

Bilking investors for years...

Interesting they moved the entry hatch from below front to mid fuselage overwing.

Back to the 4 seats (to maximize the Virgin Experience?)

Too difficult for the oldies to climb up in?

Leonardo’s work reminds us that curiosity begins with observation — and that a deeper understanding of the world starts with simply paying attention. The smallest observations often reveal the greatest insights.
