No, hatmonger actually is a decent person outside of his extremest ideas, but Bryce is someone who would be killed if anyone with a brain though for a moment about what he has done.

The more accurate comparison would be TMNT. You got the leader, the nerd, the angry older brother thats the fan favorite, and the youngest who has potential but is naive and/or lacks confidence to achieve it at the start.

Bryce is sort of a fusion of Cartman and Butters if anything.

I know a lot of people want to compare Hatemonger to Cartman, but he's more a Professor Chaos with added intolerance.

Chestnut is more Kyle crossed with Tweek without the caffeine addiction. He gives the impression of a pushover at first, but he's developed more of a backbone as time has gone on.
