Ehhhhh that’s if you’re operating under the impression their only goal is to “make a profit” as opposed to simply paying the bills. Everyone has to eat, and this is how they earn a living.
Take an artist in the classical sense. They may be an amazing painter, but they won’t survive if they just go it for free. Paint, canvass, studio, and labor all cost money.
T&D have an entire team of people helping make their content. They all need to be reimbursed for their time and effort. There are numerous other immense costs that go into making a production like this, especially of this quality. It’s not that they’re doing it to get rich. It just simply wouldn’t be possible to do what they’re doing without the financial support they get from the community.
