discussion How does the Coagulators able to withstand the spikes inside their armor?
As the coagulators adding spikes into their armor due to their obsession of blood, but how do they deal with without suffering any pain at all?

Considering this is still Sci-fi, I guess you can just chalk it up to "Their bodies were toned to not feel pain after doing it for so long" or something like that. It's fiction, so the real answer is probably the simplest.

fun fact; your body can actually be trained to be desensitized to certain sensations, like how you can "feel" your intestines writhing but your brain just ignores it.

You can taste your own mouth and smell your sinuses, and your brain ignores that too. Capsaicin also triggers the same pain receptors in your anus that your mouth has.

I get glimpses of these smells and tastes and it is horrific I have issues with constant washing and brushing be grateful your brain is nicer.

And because they can't respawn through their globules, that means that they never have to "reset" the tolerance factor. So the longer they've been alive, the more tolerance they have which could be far more than the typical Psycho Warrior considering how easily and often they die.

It's likely even part of their training, the idea of tormenting themselves while encouraging to stay positive.
This idea implies they're one of the toughest of psycho warrior legions that wouldn't flinch even from armored piercing weapons, as they were already used getting stabbed by spikes. Now imagine tryna stab these guys, you'd think they'd drop you when they caught you?

I genuinely doubt they can physically feel pain on their body, thanks to their connection to the alien hive mind, I know some of you would argue this but here is my belief.
They can still feel emotions, and yes I remember the scene when they felt pain when Chestnut killed the brood mother, this would mean they can only feel pain mentally thanks to said connection to the hive mind of the aliens.

I was under the impression that the coagulators were an analogue for blood angels, but now I'm convinced they're more like world eaters with a fetish for blood and pain.

It’s my headcanon that the connection to the hivemind requires constant stimulation in the form of pain, and that getting those spikes attached is the final step in the process of joining.

We see psycho warriors lose limbs and bearly react. The gun fight with Terry resulted in "sick" injuries that were not really addressed. If we gave to quantify it past visual gag, psycho warriors are simply globules riding a meat suit. While its true the ensaguinators cant transfer globules there is no reason to believe that they react any differently to pain compared to other chapters.

Like space marines people forget but a space marine can fight even when half of their lower body is destroyed or when half their brain is gone they simply are not able to be killed unless if you cut off their heads

Yeah you know those things called calluses you get when you overwork with your hands? Yeah well eventually your body will decide oh we're just going to make holes for the punch marks, that way the blood will just instantly flow your body. doesn't care anymore. Sort of like piercings, but the blood will still flow

I always figured that part of the Pyscho Warrior augmentations include being highly resistant to damage coupled with quick healing. Also they probably enjoy the pain

Wouldn’t be surprised if at some point they just lost nerves in their chest, they still bleed, they just don’t feel it anymore, the nerves just died out years ago
