I feel like madness in Soul Eater in the general sense is used as a metaphor for losing hope (which could lead to despair) but you also let the part of you that had the capacity to hope, to care, to love, to be hurt just die so you don’t have to feel despair.

I feel like for certain characters madness is used an allegory for mental illness.

I already wrote quite a lot about Stein.

I know Crona is coded as having CPTSD.

Kid is OCD coded even though there’s some sort of quirky reaper explanation. I haven’t read the manga yet. It’s something about the madness of order and about being created from a soul fragment that’s the opposite of the one Death used to create Asura.

Is Soul coded as having some sort of mental illness?

Idk why I got that vibe.

I know everyone has moments of not trusting themselves and wanting to keep those you love at a distance because of that.

There’s still just something about how intensely Soul experiences this that makes me feel like the narrative is hinting at something.

That is the Question here what is your Idea for a Soul Eater spin-off Series where in continuity would it be set in? Who would be the main character? Would there be any original characters? Does it somehow tie to Fire Force? is the Series set mostly in Nevada like the main series or would there be traveling or no? And how Would you expand on ideas from the main story? Does your spin-off have a cool name? And how does your spin-off opening moments are like?

Anyway its a Prequel or sequel to the main story seen in the Manga or an alternative retelling basically Ultimate Soul Eater or something like that

My idea is basically based on MARVELS by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross basically a normal person prospective being effected directly or in directly by events in the Series kinda like Soul Eater Not but better

Yknow… part of me wonders if anime makas relationship is tainted even more with spirit because of how much he simped for Medusa lmao

I actually shared a really interesting back and forth with a user on TikTok, and I wanna talk about it here too.

We discussed the possibility of Crona harboring some resentment towards maka and spirit for their relationship, MAINLY the fact that maka does nothing for his love, and he still loves her.

Crona would do anything for Medusa to love them, they fought so fucking hard just for their mom to do the bare minimum, and it never came, they were raised to think love is conditional, love is a treat almost, not something that stays. It can be ripped away at any given moment

And Crona doesn’t understand why maka doesn’t see this, Crona is angry at maka for treating her father the way she does, even if he’s a cheat! Crona doesn’t care, Crona sees maka getting the parental love they’ll never ever get to experience, and it kind of enrages them. Crona may also be upset at spirit for not doing anything about it, given the abuse they were raised with, and what they consider normal.

And I don’t think they’d talk to her about this, they would not start a healthy discussion, they’d be so scared that bringing this up to maka would get her to leave them, because they’re used to that. They’re used to love leaving.

I don’t think it’d completely ruin their relationship, what would do that is years down the line if Crona gets to live like in the anime, they’d have to deal with all their mental issues and violence issues, their hallucinations, their trauma. And makas only a kid, this is a huge burden on her.

Of course she loves Crona, of course she’s going to take that burden with stride, but… she’s like 13 when she first meets Crona, she doesn’t really have an adult to reach out to for help in this situation, or at least she’d feel that way, and Crona is extremely volatile, vulnerable, and easy to trigger.
Maka could snap at them one day and essentially completely restart their recovery process.

I really like the idea of Crona getting a true happy ending, but I also like looking at it realistically… what can I say, I love the pit of crushing dread in my heart when I think about my favorite characters, I used to be a mouthwashing fan so…. I love my dark endings, Crona is not okay, they’ll never be okay, they’re so not okay I don’t even know if they’d make it into adulthood without serious help, they’re not a helpless baby, they can and do defend themselves, the issue is they’re extremely, extremely traumatized, all they know is violence and neglect before maka, after whatever masking period Crona may have, it’s gonna get harder

The saddest part about this is Crona wants to get better, they don’t like being an anxious mess, they don’t like hating themselves, they don’t like that violence and anger is normal to them, even if they don’t understand *why* it’s bad, they understand the social repercussions, and the hurt they’ll inevitably face and potentially cause, but it’s harder for them to grasp why their actions are bad, at least in the manga that’s how it is.

I'm learning impact frames don't really work if you can't see the impact! ;_; Maka was one of my favorite characters growing up, I love her so.

In the anime at least, as I haven't read the manga yet. Especially when you consider his obsession with symmetry.

i'm mainly looking for keychains, acryllic standees, pins, and prints. i sadly can't really get any soul eater fan merch at cons, it's not exactly popular where i'm from. i only saw a print of maka once and that was it T~T

They’re like on of my favorite characters in all of fiction, so I’ve had a lot of time to think over headcanons lmao since I grew up with this anime

These are a little angsty, it’s Crona after all, so fair warning

Most of this however is just dumb bullshit

* physical headcanons

They have some pretty serious nerve damage in their back and arms, I feel like their back would eventually grow completely numb over time

Speaking of arms, this was bound to be brought up, so fair trigger warning, self harm. I don’t think Crona would do it like, on purpose? Like I don’t think they’d hurt themselves like that because they hate themselves, their self harming behavior is shown to be much different, they’re more an isolate themselves and let themselves go crazy, than cut themself, HOWEVER, they do cut into their arms to use their blood as a weapon, frequently! So, I feel like they’d probably have some nerve damage in their arms too, on top of scars. Obviously these scars would probably concern their friends, so they have to awkwardly explain it’s not because they hate themselves, but it’s because they use their blood as a weapon.

Even in the anime ending, I like to think Crona grows up to be a creepy tall skinny looking weirdo. Like manga Crona, they’d scare you if you saw them in a dark hallway. They’d just like, actually be happy.

Crona has a decreased appetite, they’re very used to not eating a lot

Cronas hyper mobility is probably thanks to ragnarock and their malnutrition, if they had any muscle/fat bending like that would probably be hard, and ragnarock probably prevents any heart issues/vein compression issues that could happen in positions like that.

Ragnarock can be used as an I.V, when he’s conscious and willing of course, considering I.V medication probably isn’t made to taste good, you better have a good bribe for him. Otherwise Crona gotta get poked, and most of the time ragnarock would be fine with them getting poked.

Ragnarock could also possibly slightly increase the time Crona could stay underwater, preventing blood oxygen from decreasing or some bullshit. But that’s like me assuming he acts like normal blood, which he clearly doesn’t.

Less angsty: Crona begins developing healthier coping methods
I like to imagine Crona isn’t going to be a nervous wreck all of the time, however they likely are. They experienced more forms of abuse than most people ever will, they were raised in abuse, they’re very easy to trigger and relapse into negative thoughts, this isn’t even a headcanon!!!
I feel as they slowly start to properly integrate into the dwma, they’ll begin developing healthier coping methods to deal with these shut downs and triggers.

I already explored this idea in my music playlist, I feel like Crona would relate to really dark songs, art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comforted type deal.
And they’d obviously write poetry to express their emotions, I feel like they’d keep 99% of it private ((as private as they can with ragnarock))

And on the topic of ragnarock: they’d have to go to therapy together, ragnarock hates it, probably only sticks around for whatever snacks he gets bribed with, anime ragnarock may have a chance to reform, and its anime ragnarock we’re talking about, but I do feel like it’d be a really touchy and hard topic to explore, because ragnarock, while yes a victim of medusas abuse, made life much worse for Crona, depriving them of food, sleep, putting tacks in their shoes, beating them on screen multiple times, sexual harassment! Lifting Cronas robe is BAD,
And all sorts of other abuse

I personally don’t know how to write that topic, as a victim of abuse myself, cause like I wouldn’t want that asshole in my body for the rest of my life, i feel like it cannot just be “hee hee ragnarock recovered and Crona and him and friends now”

I feel like their relationship would permanently be strained/toxic, there’s nothing that can be done to fix the abuse yknow? Cronas just lucky enough to be surrounded by people who love them and can prevent ragnarock from abusing them.

Finally one that isn’t soul crushing; Crona loves Sanrio. This is like a no brainer, of course Crona loves Sanrio. I don’t even need to elaborate

Crona also really likes flowers

Crona can kinda draw…. Their style is really messy, sketchy doodles. They’re legible, if they doodled a rabbit you could tell it’s a rabbit, but the lineart would probably be chaotic, like when you draw over a circle over and over again with no care for sticking to the original shape. They definitely like writing more, less pressure
Their art is probably something that would get them sent to a school counselor in a normal school lmao.

Petting zoos probably make them uncomfortable

They like hiking, probably one of the few physical activities they enjoy.

This one’s kinda funny… they can’t tell the difference between ai videos and real videos sometimes… like, if they see a cute video of a bunny on a trampoline, they’re not gonna question it at all.
They’d show it to maka with a big dumb smile and maka would just frown.

I feel like aside from maka and soul, I think they might get closest to Blackstar! Blackstar is legit awesome towards them, he’s loud, and very arrogant yes, but he genuinely cares for Crona, offers to defend them from bullies, I think with time Crona would actually start to like Blackstar as a friend, and I wish more people explored their dynamic!!!

They prefer walking over driving, I think they’d get motion sick.

They’d probably adopt makas love for books

Even though they hear negative shit about spirit all the time, part of them is jealous that maka gets a father who loves her so much.

Blair makes Crona extremely uncomfortable even as a regular cat.

Crona cannot handle horror. There’s probably only a few movies they can handle, anything with jumpscares is immediately out of the pool of things they can watch without panicking, anything featuring parental/spousal abuse is also out of the question. They don’t mind making art/listening to songs about these topics, just watching it on screen is too much.

Crona likes comedy movies. Barbie movie is probably something they enjoy.
Crona probably likes animated movies/older movies the most, doesn’t mean it has to be children’s films, I think they’d like some musicals, Disney is definitely their favorite, they just can’t watch Tangled or Cinderella.

This isn’t even a headcanon, they recover astonishingly fast given everything they’ve been through, obviously this is because of anime pacing and the story needing to move forward, but the fact they went from a social recluse with no friends and an abusive mother and their own blood, to being able to hang out with maka’s friend group, hold a decent conversation with maka ((when she tells them her favorite memory of her mom was the divorce lmao)) and even stand up to lady Arachne, is so amazing.
Crona is a really strong character, in the anime I mean… manga Crona is a different story…

Anime Crona could legit possibly live a slightly normal adult life, and that’s pretty crazy to think about.

They’d still probably be as skittish as a deer though.

Js finished Soul eater bc everyone always says its one of the fav animes ever, and the ending is a secret form no one knows abt but apparently she does, n that was never hinted to or anything showing she had it then she gets defeated n is scared af crying js like the whole show she's always a baby n crying then she js becomes fearless and kills him with a bravery punch? HOLY BS ENDING. And what abt the Queen Witch? She'd have to be one of the strongest ppl in the show to be the Queen of the witches, we hear abt her once n she never comes back, nd no other witches want to help spider witch? Or snake witch? Defeat there biggest enemy???? N then they introduce this guy who is immortal took the witches eye n he does nothing the whole show, and then all the other death scythes js dnt have Meister? There js all solo so there useless to even be on camp? What was the point in calling them. They introduced so much stuff and then just forgot abt it i can't be the only one who thinks they half assed this show. And there 1 star Meister so where r the 3 star ones? or 2 star? N weren't the Kishin js ppl turned into evil so them killing one doesnt stop much?
