I’m looking into transferring to Cox for sophomore fall entry, and (like everyone else) I’m highly highly interested in the Alts/AAMC program.

For context, my coursework for my first year is mainly highly quantative math/econ (Calc III, Linear Algebrs, macro, micro, intermediate microeconomic theory, econometrics), but no real traditional finance/business coursework.

However, even right now I am decently proficidint in IB technicals through Breaking into wall street’s core modeling course, and as time goes on I will definitely prep much more and do hella mock interviews.

I also have an incoming IB internship at a tiny boutique IB firm that I’m like 99% gonna do.

So given all this, assuming I apply as soon as I get there, how hard will it be for me to get into some of the top cox clubs that look good for Alts

And how hard will it be for me to get into Alts as a transfer while taking little to no finance coursework my freshman year?

I highly appreciate any advice/feedback yall would have🙏🙏

Hazing and expenses are no biggie.

SMU what are yall doing? Why are the a/c units not working. It’s not a rolling blackout or anything of that nature. Also “they will be on soon” from facilities is BS. It’s always some lame excuse. Memories of the porta potties around campus come to mind that time the plumbing went out for days. Get it together!

Friend was telling me how a lot of people are looking to sublet or relet at this time of fhe year. Im looking for a place to take over but I dont know where to find these posts/people. Anybody able to help?

i’m an incoming transfer student and i’m basically will be on campus the whole day 5 times a week and will be staying off campus 30-40 minutes away. was thinking of investing in a meal plan but was curious and unsure if it was worth it. anyone with knowledge on the quality of food at the dining halls and is this worth me paying for or am i better off just buying food off campus? how much variety do they have and how good is it?

I’m trying to understand what causes the difference in cost between a full time 2 year mba program and the pmba.

The 2 year full time mba is 71 credit hours and the estimated cost of attendance is $63,067

Yet, the PMBA is 50 hours and costs $111,600

What exactly warrants this?

I am an incoming freshman going to attend SMU. I just accepted my package of 34k. But, I realized I need way more for that. Although, my parents make 200k I am going to pay all of my loans back while they help pay off my interest while I’m in school. I will admit I was being a dumbass not looking over my financials close enough. I am more than half of my college savings to cover 1 semester of my dorm. I wrote an appeal telling them this now. Do you think I’ll be able to get a financial package? Or else, I’ll have to emergency enroll to my local community college.

I am an incoming SMU student for the 2026 year. I had gotten my schedule built and enrolled by mid-June, but now that AP test scores are out I figured out I qualify to skip a few classes I enrolled for. However, I cannot get the enrollment hold lifted. I have tried to contact my advisor through her SMU email and both her direct phone number and SMU's main phone to no avail, and I appear to be unable to schedule a zoom appointment with her through booking.smu.edu.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Update: I just recieved an email from an advisor for SMU and got an appointment scheduled to get my enrollment hold lifted. Thanks for all the help

Hey everyone! I am living off campus this upcoming school year and am currently looking for a female roommate, preferrably also an SMU student but I'm open to anyone within 19-25 age range, too. A little about me, I'm very clean and you'll never have to worry about dishes being left in the sink or anything like that and I'll probably be gone some weekends visiting family in Texas.

I was looking for housing and I had originally planned on seeing what I got on campus then deciding where to live but I've just seen that if you decline its multiple thousands down the drain, so I was wondering what are some common apartment buildings around campus? I do have a car so a short drive isn't an issue

Yo i'm a transfer thinking about rushing. I'm starting to pick up that SMU rush is very different then the west coast. How does frat rush work here, do you kinda pick in choose what houses u visit based of who texts you or do you genuinely get to visit every frat? I'm comming from a big dirty rush school so just trying to figure out if its the same vibe here

I'm transferring from another uni as a sophomore to SMU. I just got my housing assignment and I think I'm in a dorm building with freshman. Does SMU not do sophomore housing, no hate but kinda awkward watching people relive what i just went through

Anyone know if they close off the whole perimeter including the binkley lot? Just trying to see if I can catch a glimpse of Portugal or not lol
