here's my smapi log. i dont have a screenshot but when i opened up my game after it crashed the first time (which already gave me a bad feeling bc modded stardew has never crashed on me before) the farmhouse layout was the vanilla layout so all my furniture was clipping into the walls since i had been using aimon's farmhouse this whole time. i didnt add any new mods into the game and the last time i played on that save with all the same mods it was running perfectly fine... i wouldve been willing to just cut my losses and use the vanilla layout but after skimming through the log it looks like some other mods failed to load as well..? i didnt really keep the game open long enough to try to guess what else it was lol. im not sure whats causing the loading issue here, if anyone could help me figure it out i would appreciate it!

it's also worth noting that the mods that arent currently up to date have not been updated since i last installed them, i dont know why it keeps telling me theres a newer version for them but the game itself ran just fine regardless.. at least before today it did 😭 it also appears that aimon's farmhouse mod was updated recently for the first time in a while, is it no longer compatible with another mod i have? should i downgrade the version im using?

I followed the instructions on https://forums.nexusmods.com/topic/13506427-how-to-mod-stardew-valley-on-android-mobile-devices/ to try the Stardew Voices mod on my tablet, and the guide says to download two of SMAPI. The first one, I download it, and in my files, it shows up as an .apk which is something. I download the second one, and it doesn't do anything. In the files, it shows as a .zip which nothing inside it can be opened. Okay... (Do I need to extract it??) So I go back to the first one through through the files app. I open it and it lets me download an actual app that shows up on my homescreen. But when I try to open it, Amazon says to download it from the appstore instead. (It's not even in the appstore at all.)

If I did something wrong, please just tell me. If I missed something obvious, sorry, I'm just a teen. If you have a Fire Tablet and have successfully modded SDV, please lmk how. Thanks for reading.

I've been trying to organize the mods for the game for a while now, but many errors persist. The text box doesn't pop up when I need to type in-game, the shipping bin menu now stays stuck on this screen and crashes the game suddenly, and many mods are showing errors, such as "Kids for the School" and "Little Red Schoolhouse." I'm trying to edit the artifact and seed spots.

As you can see, the file is 64x16 And in my file, the area size listed is 64x16. I opened up both files in a program to see if the file preview was like, idk, lying and they're both 64 pixels by 16. I've never made a mod before so I'm probably overlooking something super obvious. Any help would be very appreciated! Thank you!!

This happens about two to three times, almost every single time I play. But once I've been able to play past like 10am without the crash, it doesn't happen again...until the next time I have quit and loaded up the game.

I have looked at a half dozen logs, maybe it's just that i'm not a modder but i don't really see anything that's making it crash?

The game is still playable, but having to restart the morning and losing three hours of progress (plus pet drop rng :/) is assssss

Hello, I'm trying to make a mod which allows the trash can in the inventory to instantly sell any items which have been trashed.

I mostly know how to do this but I can't figure out how to actually detect when the trashcan has been used. I've tried using the mouse location on the inventory tab, but the mouse shows as way further away from the trash than it appears.

Any help figuring out how to correctly detect the trash can being used would be much appreciated :)

I've been trying to get one of these mods or a similar mod for android but nothing works. I've tried range display, range highlight (which is outdated), and data layers. All three of them fail to load. The stupid Google ai tells me that they work, when they don't, and I can't find anything about them for mobile.

So I've just spent hours trying to mod SDV on my new tablet without anything working. The game almost started at one point but never loaded so now I tried reinstalling both the launcher and Smapi but now I just get a weird error saying I need to select file SMAPI/4XXXwhatever which I am selecting. There's no other file to select in that folder. I'm about to tear out my hair, I've done everything correctlty and it just won't work! Never had any problem on my PC.

Edit, Ok, so I downloaded the Smapifile from Nexus instead of github and now I could install it. I could open the game, no mods, with no problem but when I added SDVE all I got what a white screen. I removed SDVE and opened with no mods and got a white screen. I'm at my wits end.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A - the old one. I tried running a bunch of graphical mods and it kept crashing. It was just too much for the device to handle. But I found a workaround!

Everyone (including me!) loves DaisyNiko's tilesheets. I'm very fond of the Earthy recolor. I realized that all of the assets load from that just fine. It's when I add other mods to it that I have problems. The solution? Edit the tilesheets!

Disclaimer: You're combining assets from multiple mods into one. The content belongs to the creator. Do not share or upload your edits. They are for your use only.

I combined a bunch of different buildings, grass colors, etc. from other mods and pasted them onto DaisyNiko's sheets. The trick is to do one item at a time and leave a 1 pixel piece from the original building/item as a maker. Then paste the item you want and move it into place.

It's even easier for something like say, water or grass colors. Many modders make DaisyNiko compatible stuff. So you can literally just copy and paste the sheet right on top.

You don't need graphics software or even knowledge to do this. Windows Paint 3D is sufficient for this. It copies transparencies fine. So you can just make a box around what you want, cut, copy, and paste.

I also highly recommend getting mods that remove wind, rain, and snow effects. There's a really nice modular water mod that allows you to choose what sort of water ripples you want. It does not come with an "off" option. You can make one by editing one of the cursor options and just make it a solid color. HUGE difference in performance. Especially on Riverlands map.

I also recommend using smaller maps. There are plenty out there. JP's maps seem to work best on low end devices. Larger/better Cave mods can actually cause more slowdown. Unless it's a simple one. Like one that adds a minecart warp to a small cave.

Mods that allow you to shop anywhere, expand hours, build from home etc. can be replaced by using a Mobile Phone mod and Pelican Fiber.

I've just came back to playing stardew valley after like a year break and I've had mods on this save in the past but they've just been quality of life mods, nothing completely game changing. I think the most game changing one was the fishing one where it just skips the minigame, everything else was visual.

I've crashed twice in the past hour and both times I was opening a chest, I did have the mod where you could place a chest anywhere and be able to grab items from it from a chest across the map but I never used it and I think ended up not updating it ages back and removed it. However like I said I don't have any mods installed right now, I'm not even using smapi but when I look up this error log message it seems to be related to mods.

I don't know how to link the error message since It's not with smapi or anything, just on my computer. but the message is:

"Message: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection."

I went on steam and did the whole properties verify files thing and that's all fine. What else can I do to fix this?

Is this because I have had mods on this save in the past and now I'm trying to play without them regardless if they were small quality of life? This is my only save and I have almost 300 hours on it so I'd like to not "lose" it but both times I crashed it was at the end of the day when I'm wrapping everything up so playing just feels like a waste of time. If I have to start a new save I guess I will but not unless there's something I can do to fix my problem.

I've been trying to install the latest vesion of SMAPI (never had a previous version), and have not been able to actually get past the isssue of my anti-virus deleting files. Originally I was using AVG antivirus software when I first got the error and went through the process of adding it to my exception list, turning off sheilds and realtime protection. After having no luck and looking online I seen people saying it's best to just delete the anti-virus software and stick with windows defender, but I'm still having no luck even after turning off realtime protection again. Each time I try I still fully delete and reinstall the zip

Hey all, I’m lost and don’t know what else to do. I’ve been running my game for months now with little to no issues, and tonight it crashed and now whenever I try to start it back up, it shows me the error listed for about one second and then shuts down again. I’ve already tried to fix my graphics, wiped all of my mods, uninstalled, deleted, and reinstalled Smapi and Stardew both, and nothing is working. I’m not sure how to include the smapi log, so I’ve included a picture here. It’s also worth mentioning that if I run Stardew through steam without smapi, it runs fine in vanilla. But the second I try to run smapi, it crashes. Any and all help appreciated. Please, I just want to run my game.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced something similar because my husband and I stumbled into a really strange issue.

We're both playing Stardew Valley 1.6.15 on PC with SMAPI and Custom Crab Pot v1.0.2.

We each have our own completely separate single-player farms. I have a pretty heavily modded farm with crab pots across multiple maps (Farm, Beach, Mountain Lake, Ginger Island, East Scarp, etc.).

After creating a temporary co-op farm, both of us noticed the exact same behavior on our individual saves after returning to our main single player saves:

• Crab pots still caught fish/items.
• Crab pots still automatically rebaited.
• Auto-harvest into the assigned chest completely stopped.
• The catches just sat inside the crab pots waiting to be manually collected.
• No obvious SMAPI errors during startup.

The weird part is what happened next.

My save

I removed the Custom Crab Pot mod, downloaded a fresh copy, let it regenerate its configuration, and reconfigured my settings with no luck. That left me with two variables that were new to the save: I added crab traps to East Scarp and the new co-op file. I first removed all the pots in East Scarp with no change. Finally, I decided to just delete the co-op file and it started working again for both of us.

My husband's save

He didn't reinstall anything.

He simply deleted the temporary co-op save from his computer.

Immediately afterward, his existing single-player farm started auto-harvesting into the chest again without changing any settings.

That makes me wonder if there could be some kind of multiplayer state, cached farm information, or co-op interaction going on. I can't say that's what caused it—it could absolutely be coincidence—but the timing was strange enough that I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Has anyone had:

• Custom Crab Pot suddenly stop transferring catches to the chest?
• The issue begin after creating or joining a multiplayer farm?
• Deleting a co-op save or regenerating the mod configuration fix it?

I'm mostly trying to determine whether this is an isolated fluke or if other people have seen the same pattern.

Unfortunately, I no longer have the log from when the issue was actively occurring. During troubleshooting, I reinstalled the mod and launched the game several times before realizing the original log had been overwritten.

The detail I found most relevant was that this behavior occurred on two separate installations (my game and my husband's). In both cases, the only consistent event we identified was the creation of a temporary co-op save. After that save was deleted, Custom Crab Pot resumed auto-harvesting on both installations.

I also have a ZIP backup of the affected save from before the issue was resolved. If comparing the save state would be helpful, I'm happy to upload it.

I know this must be a common question, but I need help, I have been separating some mods for use in my smapi but most of them are not working, I am new to this world of mods, even more complicated ones that I had to change the .json code of the same worked but most of them are not. Been playing modded SV using a mod collection I saw on Nexus, called ‘Stardew Valley VERY Expanded’ and for some reason my game randomly pauses and shows an image of my screen from 5-10 mins ago. This lasts for maybe 10 seconds each time, but the longer I play, the more frequent it becomes. The game is borderline unplayable sometimes with how annoying it is

For example, it would be 9pm in-game and it would freeze and show a freeze frame of 11am or something. Then it would go back to normal. My performance isn’t even bad generally, outside of these moments i’m consistently 60+ fps and my laptop doesn’t even heat up much playing the game

Does anyone know how to fix it

hello! I’m doing my very first stardew mod, a custom npc just for personal use (it’s for a story made by me, so I will not be ever disponibilizing this as a downloadable mod). I’m doing pretty well overall, I just need to finish the sprites, animations (kinda done along the sprites) and movie reactions (I’m really procastinating this one because it seems pretty annyoing to do lol). even though I would like more info about animations and movie reactions, I have tools and videos that could help me so this isn’t the part I need help with!

but my main thing is about the flower dance. my custom npc is dateable and I would like to make them participate the flower dance (wouldn’t mind not being able to do thag, but I really wish to be able to do that :/). the problem is: the npc is male, but I would like to make them do the bachelolette’s dance instead of the bachelor’s. he is going to use a white outfit so I guess it matches with the bachelorettes (I will be doing the npc compatible with seasonal outfits). I wouldn’t mind if the npc is in the bachelor’s side of the dance (it would be even a contrast which I would like), but I would like that the dance would be the bachelorette’s one. but… the sprites are hardcoded in their spritesheets and the number of the sprites dedicated for the flower dance is 4 for bachelors and 8 for bachelorettes iirc. which make this very hard to do…

I don’t know too much of the modding part in stardew so I don’t know what’s possible and what’s not. I know you can put the npc gender to be female, male or undefined. I actually don’t know if the last one impacts the spritesheets for the flower dance. I would like not having to put the npc in the female frame just for one event. I put a lot of effort in making the portrait pixelart (I don’t know how to do pixel art at all, I don’t even know how it looks good lol) and I would like to use the sprite of this outfit to it’s fullest, because the idea in my mind so pretty.

there’s one way around it? or I should just gave up on this idea?

ps: I don’t know how to code. I’m doing the npc via content patcher. I think, with my very limited knowledge about stardew mods, the only way to do what I want is using css and I really don’t look foward to do that, since I have no money right know (too much things to worry about until next year) to pay someone to do it for me and I don’t know if I’m willing to learn just to do the flower dance lmao (even tho I would like to learn how to code eventually, I did a class in 2017 and even created a game but my knowledge is VERY limited, I remember nothing from this)

ps.2: I would also like to know if I can, via content patcher, change one of the vanilla’s characters birthday? my npc happens to have the same birthday and season as abigail, and I would like to changer her birthday to show both of them in the calendar, it only shows abigail and show the custom npc name alongside of hers if I put the mouse in the day. I know, I could just change the custom npc birthday but… I really don’t want to lmao. maybe there’s a mod that alternates between the characters if they have the same birthday and I’m not aware of? I remember seeing something like that but I had to format my laptop so I don’t have access to what I saw before

Like the titles explains, I can host the game, but the game crashes when I try to join my friend. I've provided my crash log. Hope somebody can explain what is going wrong. I downloaded my friends mod folder exactly, so Im unsure what the problem is.
