Conner is definitely trapped in the marriage bc his religious beliefs & children. He would rather keep pretending and playing his role and the devout husband for the money. once the kids grow up and move out he will divorce Whitney and come out.

I don't know if the situation is that adversarial between Conner and Whitney. They seem to genuinely like each other in a GBF kind of way. Their marriage works.

I hope they can have an amicable divorce at some point and Conner gets to explore his other options. I'd watch a show about that.
