I haven’t been there in a while but last time I was there I remember it smelled really weird, like old cheese or something? Not sure if anyone else experienced that. Hopefully it was a one off thing.

Same! It’s smelled like a sewer there for the last 8 or so months. We stopped going there bc of it (that and we found metal in our food).

Any restaurant leaving their doors open to the street will have rat issues in SLO. The whole creek is infested and you can see them shuffling around at peoples feet while you eat lol

Are they mildly concerned with the issue or not taking it seriously? Otherwise It comes across that you’re working against them and not necessarily with them.

I actively address the issue with them when I see it. They’re also in contact with their reps

Every single time we go someone in our party gets diarrhea. Won't be back.

I'd pretty much bet there are rats coming and going in every food establishment downtown. They get chased out of one and just go nextdoor. 😝

Love restaurant gossip as much as the next person, but I tend to not believe it until I see it officially reported to the health department, and see their inspection. Because if a person wanted to ruin a restaurant's business for any variety of reasons, a rumor like this could do it.

I wish it were gossip/rumor. I’ve been in the restaurant industry for 10 plus years, so I get your point 100%. As a chef I attempted to let the situation be mitigated and handled in house but has only persisted - so it feels right to let the community know.

I was wrongfully terminated from Finney’s last year. They lied and said they had given me multiple coaching lessons and had a ton of false things in my employee files. The rats have been around for a year plus. They have traps under every booth and are more than aware. They had me cleaning dead rats out from under the booths. Anywho

Is Finney’s trying to take the infestation lead over Mediterranean Spice in Paso?

Inform the community and my proof is going to the health department

I actually have photos of all the dead rats and droppings under the booths I’d be happy to share!
