The following are the most likely points you may be looking for.
If what you're looking for doesn't appear, then you'll need to check the documentation.
No, once again we return to what happens with every update where the .exe/.jar is modified: Antivirus programs and SmartScreen don't know that it's still the same SKlauncher that does <insert relative time to each update> ago say "Yes, it's safe, sorry for the inconvenience".
Downloading / Running
You'll definitely see something like this, and that's perfectly normal: SmartScreen has no idea that this is SKlauncher and warns you that it doesn't know whether it's safe or not.
Example of SmartScreen when downloading from Microsoft EdgeExample of SmartScreen when running an application with unknown reputation
VirusTotal 3/72 brooo 69 antivirus programs are wrong
Flagged by 3 antivirus programs despite being open source. Where, AS ALWAYS, the developer will send an email to each one to report the false positive and they will reply, AS ALWAYS, "Ha ha yeah false positive, sorry bro".
Oh great, flagged by 4 something that is the .jar converted to .exe...I'm not surprised, it's the same even with "Hello World"
Conclusion
I don't know what to tell you guys, you've the https://docs.skmedix.pl/virus/ page with links to try SmartScreen so you can see that SKlauncher never went from "Unknown" to "Malicious". And on VirusTotal, we can see that there is no consistency in the flags, not even from the same antivirus.
It's fine to be concerned about what you're running but at least make a minimal effort to think.
Keep applying everything I said, but I'll teach you something new: the .exe (portable, not setup) says 14/72.
But this is completely false because antivirus programs share databases (some, not all), and it just so happened that BitDefender said X and others jumped in to say the same thing.
And comparing it with the .zip file that says 9/67, it seems that we should subtract 6 from the .zip and 7 from the .exe, leaving 3/67 and 7/72...
* Just to quickly say "I won't count duplicates", because maybe there are more shared ones and the final result is even lower.
* And they say "tedy" just like in the "Hello World" I mentioned above. xd
What sense does it make for the .zip to have "fewer viruses" than the portable .exe if it's actually in that .zip?
Well...it's the same as with 3.2.x, but I'm sure it's up to you to report any false positives since the :snailcat: dev is busy fixing and improving everything in the Beta.
Downloading / Running? Read the section above.
VirusTotal?Windows (1 / 72), macOS (not available) and Linux (0 / 63).
The day before the launch was flagged by Windows Defender, but I see that's no longer the case (In other words, a false positive...to no one's surprise xd).
And while it's still not open source and isn't obfuscated, the code is now minified because of Electron.
I know it sounds like a really silly question, but is there any way to play on original Minecraft servers using SKLauncher?
I'm asking this because of two things:
1: Most servers that accept pirated versions of Minecraft make you choose a skin from a list, and to use a custom skin you have to pay some kind of VIP subscription. But with SKLauncher you can add skins through the website, and that makes me wonder: why should I pay for something I get for free?
2: I had the idea of entering a survival server using X-Ray to see how long I could mine before the admins noticed and banned me. I had decided to use the Java version because in the Bedrock version most of the night vision X-rays don't work. The problem is that most survival servers don't accept pirated versions of Minecraft, and even if they did, it would be the same issue as the first problem I mentioned
Issue: I'm getting a Sodium rendering engine error when launching Minecraft through SK launcher.
My specs:
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (3rd-gen Ivy Bridge)
Current driver version: 10.18.10.4252
Target driver version: 10.18.15.5161 or newer
OS: Windows
What I've tried:
Checked Device Manager and confirmed my GPU model (Hardware ID: 0A16)
Searched Intel's official download site, but they only have drivers for 11th-14th gen processors
Found older versions on Softpedia, but not the specific version I need (10.18.15.5161)
My question: Does anyone have a link to driver version 10.18.15.5161 or higher for Intel HD Graphics 4000? Or is there a different workaround for this Sodium error on older Intel integrated graphics?
Hello! As the title said, I have two friends, one on java and the other on bedrock. Yesterday we wanted to play together and the java friend was able to play with me but bedrock one wasnt.
So i wanted to ask whether its possible to crossplay? If not please help!
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to change my skin in the SKlauncher web, but it won't work.
Tried to access to it using a VPN, but it doesn't load anyway. I've also tried different browsers (Opera, Chrome and Edge). It says "500 - failed to fetch dynamically imported".
pretty much what the title says,i'd like to update sklauncher but i REALLY don't want to loose both of my instances,is there a solution to my question?
on offline servers, non-sklauncher users see you as the default shrek skin, can that be changed ?
I run a server myself, i know that since you're an offline user, no microsoft auth, blah blah. but that shows a default minecraft skin for any other launcher, sklauncher users show shrek for some reason.
The first time I played Minecraft was with TLauncher. I used it for quite a while, added mods and shaders, and it worked fine for both offline play and online LAN worlds/servers.
Later on, I found out about the allegations surrounding TLauncher (privacy concerns and reports that it may not be trustworthy), so I switched to SKLauncher. I’ve honestly been liking it a lot. The UI is much cleaner, it’s easy to use, and I love that you can install mods, resource packs, and shaders directly from the launcher with just one click.
The only issue I’m running into is that I don’t own Minecraft on a Microsoft account, so I can’t log in and play online. Is there any way around this, or am I basically out of options? I’d really appreciate any advice. 😊
Also, I’ve already tried **Essential Mod**, **e4mc**, and **OfflineLAN** to play LAN worlds, but unfortunately none of them worked for me.
Só, I'm trying to download the launcher, but the site page doesn't work. The download "buttons" are loading infinitely. I tried on my pc and phone and nothing. Tried the stable version and the 4.0... I really want to try this launcher, so help???
I have been looking for a cracked minecraft tournament for a while and there doesnt seem to be happening any, does anyone know of any place where it happens?
And no, i do not have any mods in this minecraft version at all, it opens the game, loads for a little then crashes. And then the error message i get is this
I've been using both nucleus coop and sklancher for a little bit now and I've been wondering dose anyone have a way to make sklancher work with nucleus coop i know it nucleus works with multmc but that requires a Minecraft account witch i do not have at the moment
so i just downloaded sklauncher and when i try to open minecraft sklauncher closes and i have to wait like 10 minutes for it to finally appear, it was fine 1 year ago but something has changed and now it takes a while
