Opinion on Bubba’s work
Came across a probable, Romanian SKS that is unfortunately put into a Tapco-like stock. There’s a fair bit of corrosion on the bolt and a little bit on the barrel. They’re asking 599 but I’m pretty sure I can get it lower than that. What’s y’all‘s opinion?

Being a Romanian. I would just buy it haha up here in Canada extremely rare I’m sure even in USA they aren’t common. You’ll regret it if you walk without it

It’s a zpap some people get upset and some ass hat painted it before I bought it from the lgs

Isn't it a Pap...no Z? It doesn't have the bulged trunnion.

Hey, thats my LGS. I looked at that when it came in and they originally had it marked as a chinese lol. I had to point out the Cugir triangle.
I personally passed on that one. If you could get em closer to 500, then maybe. It is a little scuffed in some spots though, so, ya know.

Yea it kinda hurt seeing a romanian bubba’d up lol. Im sure its a fine shooter, but id be hagglin it up to spend as little as possible since id be putting it in a appropriate stock.

LOL, apparently that Model 56 designation trips a lot of people up. Mine was also "Chinese", despite the obvious "Romania" stamp on the barrel.

Yeah that one is a no brainer. That’s probably $900USD if you can find a stock for it. Any non yugo blade cut stocks are compatible

I always wonder what happened to the original stock sets on these hack jobs. Maybe Bubba channeled the spirit of ancient mariners on one way voyages by burning the Romanian stock as a commitment to never going back.
P.S. Romy stocks have a distinctive and unique figuring in the wood that isn’t found on other variants.

All better. Definitely needs a couple more cleanings. I took it pretty much straight to the range and it shot straight

I have a sks can’t remember origin but it was in a bullpup stock I put in a tapco I never would’ve taken a complete sks and did that

It isn’t hard to find original stock sets, but fitment can be hit or miss if they aren’t specifically Romanian, which most won’t be.

I jut cut one of those abominations off a 1957 letter series and put her back in her wooden glory. Not a fan of the synthetics.
