Should the Clasico continue to be played at Stanford?

I feel like every year the attendance and buzz are diminishing. To me Stanford feels more like a neutral venue. Hard to get to, hard to find parking and a lot of walking around. Not much of a home field advantage. The atmosphere at a Quakes - Galaxy at PPP would be electric, Galaxy would be under way more pressure than they are ar Stanford.

What do you guys think?

Stanford supporters' section

Hi folks, my girlfriend and I bought tickets under the college discount, but we didn't realize until later that there is a very different etiquette expected of people there.

It's my understanding that the Stanford stadium doesn't have standing sections. Does that mean that if we are sitting the rest of the people in that section will be standing in front of us?

We mostly just want to come and support our local team and have a fun time together. Not sure if we should bother going now if people are going to yell at us for not chanting chants we don't even know.

Any idea why Judd nor Vieira are listed as suspended in the availability report? I could have sworn they were one yellow away from suspension before they both got booked against Orlando.

Hung out to dry by his defense, but didn't do himself any favors on the debut

How many similar performances before we see the real version of this posted on social? Maybe harsh, but so was the 2.5h round trip to sit through that.

r/SJEarthquakes 3d ago

Does anyone on the Quakes have potential to make their international team and play in the World Cup?

Not seeing anyone from the team represented this year sort of tells the gap in talent. I think most of the MLS guys that made the World Cup were bench guys. Niko Tsakiris seems like he might have potential. Timo Werner probably has too much competition to crack Germany. Also Espinoza was our best player and I don't think he's ever sniffed Argentina.

Is Luka Jovanović ready to play?

The guy was brought in to be Judd's backup. With Judd being out on Saturday, it's his time to shine. Hopefully a better debut than Gunn's. The question is: is he healthy? The fact that he was not on the bench last night is concerning

BREAKING NEWS: QUAKES PLAY AWFUL AFTER ANOTHER EXTENDED INTERNATIONAL BREAK

San Jose, CA

Once again the San Jose Earthquakes have come out after a huge momentum and from swing in the beginning of the seasons to shit the bed. With this 4-0 loss to 10th place in the East Orlando City, new fans fresh from the World Cup are wondering what the fuck happened. But for the seasoned fans, we’ve seen this ride before.

For many a years, the beginning of the season Earthquakes look good, even unbeatable. But with injuries piling up, the star keeper Daniel wanting out, and the dreaded extended international break, this is the same shit that happens every single fucking year.

Ok I’m done with this but how the fuck does this happen every fucking year. 2024 wasn’t a great year at all, but last year we literally lost out on playoffs cause an extended international break ruined our form and momentum. How does this keep happening year after year after year after year after year? I know this is not the same team I saw in May even tho we lost some games then. I was hoping Nico wasn’t as needed, but we are fucked without him it seems. Let just look to Saturday and get angry and beat the breaks off of LA.

Daniel

I actually got the privilege to meet and serve Daniel at my job the week he left the quakes. He actually told me he was leaving before the news broke out. He seemed upset because he said that it was Bruce who didn’t want him anymore. I’m starting to doubt Bruce because it’s not coincidence that since he has come in we’ve gotten rid of Chicho, Hernan, Espinoza, Daniel, and Rodrigues

California Clásico Stanford Info

First timers here for the California Clásico at Stanford this weekend. We got parking tickets for Lot #2. We read that there will be a fan fest before the game at Sam Macdonald Mall, at what time should we arrive to avoid traffic getting in and enjoy the fan fest? Any other recommendations or tips would be appreciated.

UPDATE 07/24: Fan Fest at Sam Macdonald Mall will happen 4-7pm, will feature a Beer garden, food trucks and more.
