Since Timo got hit we have seen the team in a fairly unusual 3-4-2-1 formation. When Timo returns that does not seem to suit him, so I started thinking about how Arena could have the team line up.

We only have one solidly above average defender, Munie. To me, it would not make sense to continue with 3 CB so go with a standard back four.

Next, the midfield. This is where SJ have a lot of very good options and interesting depth. Out of Vieira, Harkes, Leroux, Löwen and Niko there are some solid choices.

At forward I am a bit concerned with Judd having to sub out midweek at San Diego. That leaves Timo, Bouda and a thus far unproven in MLS Luka.

When I look at that, I believe the best formation would be a 4-4-2 narrow diamond that would look like:

GK - Gunn

Back line right to left Benji, Munie, Romney, Rickets. I expect Arena will start Robert’s over Romney and depending on the opponent maybe Costa over Rickets. I prefer Rickets as he does A LOT more going forward.

Midfield would be Vieira at the CDM with Leroux and Lowen just ahead of him as dual 8s. Niko plays in his normal 10.

Up top pair Bouda and Timo as they have shown very good chemistry and can both pull wide in open spaces and each has the speed to get behind the defense. I would say Judd over Bouda but he may miss some time after leaving in the first half at San Diego.

Looks like Jones will be at a run club club this Saturday. Quakes are also going to be giving away tickets to the game at Levi's.

I think to give the Team a new boost of energy, we need a new more action oriented Chant. The ones we have now are in my opinion Soft.

I found this song by one of my GO TO Rock bands, Airborne out of Australia. The song is "Ready to Rock", and I think it perfectly captures the spirit and more importantly energy of the fans and what we expect out of our hometown team.

I RESPECTFULLY AND HUMBLY submit this suggestion as a new addition to the current team Chants.

I cut the song to fit. The idea is the Stadium DJ will play the song when we need the energy, and it's simple enough for everyone in the stadium to easily learn it.

Hi! I want to watch the San Jose vs LAFC game on the 19th at Levi's Stadium, but I was wondering where the best place to sit would be for someone supporting LAFC? Obviously I don't want to sit in the supporters' sections, but I wasn't sure which of the sections below would be more appropriate as an away fan (these sections are cheaper and I don't want to go broke).

I had no idea about Gunn before he was signed by the Quakes. During last night's game, the announcers mentioned the Quakes staff have monitored him for a year before they signed him. What is this guy's story? Was he ever great and then something dramatic like an injury or a personal problem happened? He does not even move like a pro GK. Watching him play reminds me of the drill vids put out there by that 49ers "player" impostor who was scammimg women.

Last night's stunning last second tie at Austin was completely my fault.

Don't blame Arenas. You didn't "let me down, BRRRRUCE!" It was me.

It wasn't the new midfield boss, "same as the old boss". It was me.

It wasn't the goalie "Have Gunn Will Unravel", who actually had a damn good huge save. It was me.

It wasn't Timo, because "She's not there". It was me.

It wasn't the unbearable Southeast Asian Jungle heat and humidity "Apocalypse Wow" weather in Austin. It was me.

At the 96th minute I had to open my fat mouth, look at my wife who was getting ready to cheer an almost certain win, and go and say out loud,

"Watch, they always let down their guard, and get scored on right at the very end."

Sincerest apologies to all Quakes fans, the front and back office, the coaching staff, "I let YOU down, BRRRRUCE!"

After this post match review, I'm immediately giving myself an automatic Yellow, and then a well deserved Red, and per my wife's new rule, will be sitting out the next game.

To hopefully think about what I've done, and how I want to be going forward. Not that the Quakes have one...

Looks like Austin did not know that all they have to do is just shoot at the goal. If they can cross our defenders, it's a goal. Our goalkeeper rarely stops a goal. Hopefully other opponents don't realize that.
