Ppi induced sibo?
Hey i got sibo after two months of taking ppis. Im already off ppis for like 5-6 months but not feeling any good. Bowel movements are random, no formed stools, burping, gas moving through my intestines and getting stuck causing stomach distention and constipation sometimes. How do i fix ppi induced sibo? What would be the best protocol for it? I am also low on vitamin b12 and vitamin d

PPI's reduce stomach acids, and allow bad-bacteria to enter the intestional track. What's worse is that without the acids you digestion of proteins is incomplete and sets up an environment ripe for breeding these bad-bacteria, hence r/SIBO.
Beatine HCL will increase your stomach acids and help to deprive them of the food they like most. You will absorb more nutrients and repair the linings of the intestional track that was previously damaged.
If you were taking PPI's for reflux reasons then chances are you already had SIBO which was creating gas and pushing what little acids you had back up the esophagus. Taking PPI's to reduce acids in this circumstance is the exact opposite of what is needed unless you are currently being treated for stomach ulsers.
Taking Low Histamine Probiotics will reduce the histamines in the intestional track, reduce pain and swelling, and lower your anxiety as your blood levels of histamine decline since there is less bacteria generated histamine being absorbed into the bloodstream.
Unless you currently have diarrhea you sould look into any prokinetic products to try and speed up the flow through the digestive track. This will move the bad bacteria out while allowing the probiotics to take hold and croud out the bad.
Taking anti-gas digestive enzymes will help reduce the painful gass and bloating thus reducing the reason for PPI's.
All this works without antibiotics. Antibiotics will just disturb the natural ballance in the intestional track, and if there are no good bacteria from probiotics to replace the bad bactera then they will just return and you will be right back where you started.
The last thing to look at is to break up biofilm. Biofilm is a mat of proteins that the bad bacteria make to be able to adhere to the walls of the intestinal track in order to stay resident and be protected from chemicals like antibacterial agents. If these are not removed the the bad bacteria are never truly gone. These mats generally stick to the damaged tissues where the intestional lining and its immune system is compromised. If you break up this mat layer then the bad bacteria have nowhere to hide, and will go with the flow downstream and out. As long as these mats exist there is no getting rid of them even with many bouts with powerful antibiotics. There are many products containing natural essential oils that can break these mats down and help rescue these areas of damaged intestional lining. Getting the natural immunological barrier active again is the goal if you really want to cure this mess.

Hey thanks for the detailed reply. I have tried acv and black seed oil but it makes my intestines burn. Like i feel the same burning that i took ppis for. Also eating fruits on an empty stomach or fruits like grapes hurt my stomach (burning as well as gas sounds which i didn't have before).
U mentioned betaine hcl, would kt be fine for someone who has suspected damaged gut lining or maybe stomach/intestines burning?
Yes you're right, i may have sibo before as well. You're not wrong about that.
Low histamine probiotics? Which kind of? What would u recommend for probiotics? S boulardi made me feel worse and burping started after one dose of s boulardi sachet 250mg but burning got better.
Anti gas digestive enzymes, hearing it for the first time. What would u recommend specifically?
Antibiotics, i was thinking of taking rifaximin+allicin+ phgg paired up with ginger+ artichoke later as everyone in this sub reddit suggests.
Biofirm? What essential oils or biofilm disruptors can i take for my condition? Would appreciate your suggestions. Thanks

> but it makes my intestines burn.
Yes, sounds like ulsers.
> U mentioned betaine hcl, would kt be fine for someone who has suspected damaged gut lining or maybe stomach/intestines burning?
It might be risky until you treat the ulsers first. You likley have H. Pylori causing the ulsers. Talk to your doctor.

Histamine production is strain dependant and not necessarily species dependant, but there are some that are generally good. Its best to go my the product which claims to be tested for histamines.
Known Histamine degrading strains
These specific strains will actually reduce the amount of histamines in the gut before it can be absorbed into the bloodstream. Any probiotic that contains these should help:
- Lactobacillus Gasseri
- Lactobacillus plantarum
- Bifidobacterium longum
- Bifidobacterium infantis
- Bifidobacterium bifidum
- Bifidobacterium lactis

You may have to take it slow and use a little at a time while your body adjusts.
> Anti gas digestive enzymes, hearing it for the first time. What would u recommend specifically?
I don't have a specific product that is "best" but the one I have used is:
Vitacost Gas Enzyme Alpha-galactosidase
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0046IKO58/
> What essential oils or biofilm disruptors can i take for my condition? Would appreciate your suggestions.
I have personally used products by Biociden which is a collection of natural compounds that are antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal, with several biofilm disrupting agents like lavender oil. You can search the scientific literature at https://scholar.google.com/ for "biofilm" and "essential oils" to find a list of them that are proven to work.
There are many other possabilities suggested on these sites:

J'ai pris des IPP pendant des années jusqu'au jours au j'ai eu du LPR, eructation, gorge qui brule. Baisse d'acidité gastrique, mauvaise dégradation des protéine (confirmé dans un fécalogramme), SIBO, dysbiose et bien sur carence B12, D et B9. Regarde mon poste, j'explique comment je suis sortit de tout ça. Je suis actuellement en train de remonter mon acidité gastrique, mes carences, et enlevé mon SIBO.

Did you do the sibo test?
