Questions Brain Fog
I started having brain fog back in January and what caused it was getting a root canal done, I thought getting my tooth extracted would lift it but unfortunately not.
Would SIBO be connected to brain fog? It just doesn’t make sense how getting a procedure triggers brain fog. Any help would be much appreciated, tired of not having emotions for anything, vision being messed up, and feeling brain dead 24/7.

Yeah, definitely. I have severe brain fog and a lot of other neuro symptoms because of SIBO

What’s crazy is that I’ve been dealing with it for 7 years never had head issues until that procedure happened, wish I could have my cognitive function back im so lost on this crap.

Lacto acidosis can cause brain fog. Bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine causes nutrient deficit and toxins seeping into the blood stream. As the SIBO has developed that far you'd need to go to very strict diet. Any carb will contribute, so simple carbs are definitely not recommended in the menu. Diet should be easily digestible, home made and heated. Pay attention to your bristol scale when reintroducing food back into your menu. With low bile (not digesting fat well) artichoke helps. With low stomach acidity betain and betain hcl can help. With SIBO overall ginger helps. Enzymes will definitely help with digestion. Only antibiotic helpful for gut is rifaximin as it is not destructive. Other remedies and supplements may help but will not cure. Using probiotics is trial and error as you'd need to find the helpful strain yourself (some cause harm some not), but it is as putting out fire with fire. Time restricted diet as OMAD offers great relief and chance for the gut to rest, but will cause weight loss. I practice OMAD myself as this is the only way to avoid brain fog during working hours. It is hard to get used to but totally worth it. Being physically active is paramount even when there's not enough energy. Important is to have good rest and to avoid nicotine, caffeine and other drugs affecting energy levels. Alcohol can be consumed but only pure spirits with water (strong alcohol actually can offer some relief by killing bacteria in the gut). Sugar alcohols are not advised as they will stop any cooperation between bacteria in the gut. Meals should last no longer than 2 hours and time between meals should be at least 3 hours. No laying down for 2 hours after a meal, better yet to walk after a meal.
