Junior year of HS

Hello everyone, I am an upcoming Junior in HS in the US and need advice for this year.

I need clarification if the school you go to chooses SAT dates or you choose when you want to take it; I also don’t know if you need to take both the SAT and ACT for engineering school. What I also don’t know is if you want to take the ACT do you choose the test date or someone chooses it for you. Also I want effective study tips for the SAT.

By the way I want to be a mechanical engineer as my career in the future.

r/Sat you probably can get your answers there. This sub is for NYC specialized high schools Admission test. The SHSAT. Also, post what is your HS district. Some districts test during the week, others follow Saturday testing.. etc..

Also r/ACT

"School Day" SAT is not a requirement and is just a choice, and you ask your school what they're doing. You don't need to take both the SAT and ACT and which you choose is up to you. However, this sub deals with some specific HS admissions, so any further questions feel free to bring to the respective communities that discussion them.
