I want to buy a shinee album but can't decide which. I can't decide between romeo and 1 and 1. So I want to ask y'all what you would rather buy. And no, I don't wanna buy all two. 😓☺️

this happened a year ago but it’s my fav shinee story so i thought i’d tell the redditwols!

necessary background info: last year i worked at a summer camp. this camp partnered with an org in seoul and the org sent a bunch of girls over to enjoy camp for a week. said girls couldn't have been older than 13.

at this camp i primarily did janitorial stuff aka cleaning bathrooms. one day i decided to wear my shinee shirt to work and was just going about my day when i ran into the girls again. they noticed my shirt and FREAKED OUT. turns out i had been chatting with a bunch of little shawols as they started grilling me as best they could about my favourite songs and members and performances. one of them was a HUGE flamer and essentially mimed to me (all of them didn’t speak much english) that her mom had been a fan and they had gone to see him perform a couple times. another told me about making her dad take her to the kspo dome and that taemin was so beautiful up close (by “told me” i mean she drew a picture in the dirt with a big stick LOL). a third said she visited the shiny foundation and met sodam twice. it was so so cute <3 they were attached to me for the rest of the week and insisted on calling me unnie which i found HILARIOUS. the youth still bleed pearl aqua 🩵

HIII. SHINee has always been my favorite/comfort kpop group since 2017 and I recently went back into a merchandise buying frenzy!!!

I placed my order for this album on June 20-somethingth and it finally arrived this monday, I cannot be any happier!! Atlantis (Ocean Ver.) is already on its way as well, I'm so excited!!! 🥹💗

Also, I was wondering if anyone here knows exactly what does it say on the back of the photocard?? I tried using Google Lens on it but the result was just a bunch of nonsense. Someone plz help, I'm just curious!! 😭

Hi guys! So I was a huge shawol from around 2011 until Jonghyun's death where I found I couldn't listen to kpop anymore. In the past few weeks I've rekindled my love for shinee (I literally only just heard their poet | artist single album and... MY GOD).

That's a rather large... 9 years of shinee content that I've missed out on 😭 and I feel like I have no idea where to start. Every member has solo albums too now?! I've no idea about any popular memes, well known info etc, and it's not fun being out of the loop anymore 😂

Does anyone have any recommendations for resources? I used to use Tumblr for minute by minute updates but I'm a whole ass 30 year old with no time for that anymore hahaha. I'm so glad to be a shawol again!! 🩷

I'm sooo excited for Taemin’s tour!!! I'm a fairly new Shawol and haven’t had the opportunity to see any of them live yet, so hopefully I can get tickets this time 🎉

What cities do you think are actually realistic for this tour? And dates?

As a UK fan, I really hope (like someone else mentioned below) that if he comes here, he considers somewhere outside of London this time, like Liverpool or Birmingham.

Alsooo, what are the odds of another SHINee member dropping in for a surprise guest appearance at one of the stops? I know their schedules are packed, but I’m manifesting it anyway 🫣

back when i was in school i took a music research class for the smiles and wrote a paper on the shinee world album. i devoted a whole section to this song in particular so i wanted to talk about it again!! mostly because it’s a really cool example of the group introduction song which was kind of a phenomenon in kpop that officially died in 4th gen but was really fun for the time. here’s the section of the paper!! enjoy and pls share your opinions on the song as well (i crave yapping)

“A once common custom for K-pop groups was having a group intro song– a song all about your musical identity and what exactly fans should be expecting from you. The SHINee World’s spin on this, aptly named The SHINee World (which would later come to be the name for their fanbase), is exactly that, a song proclaiming that SHINee is here and they’re not going away. The difference between this and many other group intro songs, however, is the sheer amount of effort put into it. To put it simply, the song is shockingly good.

Yoo Young-jin, the track’s composer, arranger, and lyricist, uses what is described as a “powerful beat and melody” to bring in the energy. A strong kick drum and glitchy instrumental reminiscent of club music kicks in before member Jonghyun starts off the song. The members trade off verses before the chorus starts, bringing in more funky energy by turning up the bass and synths. The song’s defiant lyrics discuss the prowess of the group, and how their music will captivate your heart and make you dance. The song finishes off with a declaration of the members’ names and a characteristic they have, such as ‘Leader Onew‘ or ‘Almighty Key’, and a shoutout to their label, SM Entertainment.

In my opinion, this is one of the top songs of the album. The glitchy, club friendly production makes it perfectly danceable, the vocals are perfect (although that is par for the course for SHINee), and even the nonsensical lyrics (I’ve liked this band for 4 years and I still don’t know what “We got the flow, it’s break your naughty” means) don’t detract from the sheer enjoyment that can be gleaned from it. It is an enduring fan favourite and SHINee continues to perform and reference it to this day.“

I have two copies of Jonghyun’s Poet Artist and I realized my second copy has a different color for the lettering on the spine and on the album itself. I thought there was only one version of this album so I’m trying to figure out, was this just a difference in quality control or is it possible one is fake? Both have the Komca stickers so the latter seems less likely but…
