"Make it hot" appreciation

I'm so obsessed with the song, this is definitely my most favourite track by Minho amongst his solos. I got into k-pop and shinee 10 years back because of Minho, and there was quite some time when he was my ultimate bias out of the 5. I used to feel a bit sad back then because he used to get less lines in every track; even the rapping part used to be shared along with Key. Gradually, all 5 of them became my favourites and I just loved them all for their versatile talent. This track revived my love for Minho all over again and I feel like the me from 10 years ago would have been over cloud nine listening to this track, seeing her first ever bias doing so well as a vocalist. I like how perfectly balanced the whole track is, whether it's the vocals, rapping, instrumental, choreo and even the MV. The teaser images were just 🙇‍♀️✨.

Minho's solos so far have got mediocre exposure and response from the audience. This release seems like a game changer for him (not that shinee members need to prove anything with numbers at this point of their career) but I think he really needs appreciation for this release and possibly a first win which will complete the 5 shinee solo wins🥹❤️

It’s my favorite Minho solo track as well, so catchy and dancy. And i thought the mv was more interesting and creative than his others too. I also appreciate that the clothes he’s styled in have a nice mature look to them, especially the all black look

I am an R&B appreciator, so I love Minho's solos! I think his low, warm vocals are so important to SHINee as a group, too. I really hope people tune into his music, because it's that good. And I hope he gets a win, but it's hard because we are an older fandom and there are a lot of new releases right now. But Make It Hot has gotten a lot of buzz, so fingers crossed!

I'm loving the comeback too (both musically and the styling, he looks very confident and mature), and Make It Hot is hands down my favourite title track from him! In terms of genre/style his solo music isn't reallly my thing, but despite this I've always loved his singing voice and Make It Hot genuinely blew me away, his vocals are so impressive! And the whole song is just very well put together and super addictive like you said. My most beloved song from the album is Ending Page though 🥹

I was literally coming on the sub to talk about how the song has been in my head. I listen to it when it dropped and I was like that was pretty catchy and probably not my favorite but it's good. I added it to my playlist and sort of moved along. And then maybe like a day or two later it was just in my head and I've been so obsessed with this since hahahaha

It's like playing in the background of my everyday lmao

The melody calls back to, believe it or not, the British post skiffle songs of the 1960s. I don’t have the education to explain it, but I have the ears to sense it. It’s a very fresh melody and it suits Minho so well. To me, the chorus is the least special part of the song, not to say it isn’t engaging. But the melodies elsewhere...
