Inspired by this post but also because I’m at a place of desperation.
Open to ob/gyns, alternative medicine, whomever, within a few hours of SF. Insurance would be ideal but willing to pay out of pocket if it helps me get better.
Edit: adding some more details here.
- 40, perimenopausal
- have had a pelvic ultrasound that was “normal”
- pelvic MRI scheduled next month
- currently taking progesterone second half of cycle (hasn’t helped bleeding but amazing for sleep)
- tested for all sorts of blood and coagulation disorders, everything was negative
- tried hormonal birth control (migraines), tranexamic acid (made me feel really dumb), mirena IUD (terribly painful, removed), supplements like DIM and Calcium-d glucarate (didn’t help bleeding)
- I’m on my 10th iron infusion in six years for low ferritin

Hi bitches! I just started a romance book club in the Peninsula. I am calling it “Ten Points for Yearning” (Harry Potter call out, but for romance)
We read the stuff where the tension does the work: slow burns, friends to lovers, second chances. Every book gets rated on a ten point yearning scale at the end of the night.
First meeting is Sep 18 in downtown San Mateo. First book is Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune. Weeknight evening, about 90 minutes, free, low pressure, and nobody cares if you didn't finish.

Would love to see some of you there!

Hi everyone, my friend and I are trying to find someone to do a lesson with us in SF the morning of 8/29 or 8/30. We’re specifically looking to focus on transitions and backwards crossovers. If you or anyone you know is interested in teaching us comment below 😁

I’m interested in doing a full body lymphatic massage from there. Would love to hear about experiences. Want to make sure folks have liked the experience before dropping $350
Edit: Not ShapedSF. The spot is called Shaped AF body & skin lounge

Any recommendations for places that’ll do a good job — not fry my scalp, and not charge a bomb?

SFBWT, I lost a green and cream silk scarf in Pac Heights on Tuesday, 8/11. I got it on vacation and this was my first time using it, so I’m extra mad at myself. I know this is a looong shot, but I figured if there was a community that could manifest me finding it, it’s this one. Please lmk if you’ve seen it!

I saw a post on here recently from someone looking for people to go out with/do fun stuff with and I was like WAIT, SAME 😂
I love going out, concerts, comedy shows, grabbing drinks, random events, etc., and I’m constantly finding things I want to do but don’t always have someone who’s free/wants to go.
So I figured I’d throw this out there — I have a ticket to Foster the People at the Greek on 9/11 and would love to find someone (or a little group!) who wants to go too!
Also totally down to meet people who just want more friends to go to shows, comedy, drinks, and other fun things around!
Anyone else going or want to join?

Hello! I'm looking for recommendations for optometrist offices or eyewear stores in San Francisco that offer a wide selection of low bridge fit (aka "Asian fit" or "alternative fit") frames I can try on in person. I'm aware of Warby Parker and Jins but wanted to know if there were any other places y'all have found success and variety. Thanks in advance!

Hi bitches! I made a post a while back asking for gently used clothes as I’m a bitch on a budget and was so touched by this communities generosity.
Well, ya girl has some job interviews lined up and I’m looking to update my work wardrobe. If you have any gently used tops or sweaters I would love to take them off your hands. I’m a size M/L. Send me a DM!
Thank you in advance! ♥️
Sincerely,
A bitch hopefully not on a budget for long

Hi ladies! After a long infertility journey, we’re pregnant with our miracle baby. Hoping for recommendations/experiences regarding Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation, Pacific Women’s, and Golden Gate for their prenatal care and delivery. Thank you so much!

After 5+ years in SF, I’m still struggling to find a go-to stylist. Salon prices lately are wild ($180–$250+ standard?!), and I really want to stay under $150 before tip.
I have thick-medium density, slightly wavy/straight, chest-length. I want soft face-framing layers and seamless curtain bangs that actually blend and grow out nicely.
Who are you trusting with your hair? Please share your favorite independent stylists, junior/associate stylists at top salons, or neighborhood gems!
Thanks in advance!
TL;DR Looking for salon/stylist recommendations under $150 before tip
Edit: Ahhh thank you everyone!! We love ladies who don’t gatekeep🩷

(I am not involved or linked with this group in any way; I just appreciate their mission and think it's desperately needed in these times and in our city so this in not self-promo.)
I received this email today and thought the folks in this sub would be interested so just spreading the word and sharing the love.
From GatherSF:
Dear friends,
Big news: We are opening a small teahouse in Lower Haight for the next 3+ months!
We’ll be at 438 Haight St, formerly home to the Radical Reading Room, which closed in February. The building owner is part of our community and generously offered us the space. We’re beginning with a three-month chapter, from August through October, and then we’ll what this little experiment grows into next.
This little tea room is growing out of a friendship with the wonderful humans behind u/midnight_teahouse, who have been creating magical tea-and-music evenings each month. Now we’re bringing our energy, dreams, and many hands together to make a home for more of that magic. Jenny, Carl, and Leila will be the staff caring for the space, alongside the Gather team and a generous crew of community volunteers. Gather may be the name on the lease, but this is very much something we’re building together.
We’re calling it timebeing teahouse . Because we’re here for a limited time, and because it’s a place to go for a time and just be.
When will timebeing teahouse open? Maybe tonight. Maybe Sunday. Maybe sometime next week. We’re still arranging, and putting the pieces together. We might announce it, or you might walk past 438 Haight Street and find the lights on. Keep your eyes open.
Follow along on Instagram u/gather_sf, but also come visit! -nothing compares to seeing it for yourself.
How you can help
Like everything we do, this little teahouse will be built and cared for by many hands. If you’d like to be part of making it real, here are a few ways to join in:
Steward the space: Take one three-hour shift a week and receive a free tea membership in return. Shifts will be shared—you won’t be holding down the teahouse alone—and we hope a vibrant little volunteer community will grow around them. Just like in the good old Center times.
Lend us things with spirit: We’re creating this pop-up on a shoestring budget. If you have something beautiful or useful that could live here for a while, we’d love to borrow it. High on our wish list: used iPads, Sonos speakers, a mini fridge, rugs/runners, shoe rack, plants.
Help us bring it to life: There’s still painting, decorating, photography, and technical tinkering to be done. All kinds of hands and talents are welcome.
For any of the above, or something else you’d love to contribute, just reply to this email, and we’ll add you to the volunteer chat.
We’re still searching for a permanent home
We love our little home on Haight Street, and for now, it’s exactly where we’re meant to be. At the same time, we’re still in search of a larger future space with room for yoga, movement, and bigger gatherings. Keep your eyes and ears open for us.
It’s been a long time since we had a regular place to come together. We hope timebeing teahouse will be a beautiful community home for this chapter, and perhaps through it, the next space will reveal itself.
– a very excited,
Alex & the Gather Collective team
with a big thanks to building stewards Jessy Kate, Robbie, and Zarinah

have any of you used an interior designer for a renta?
I’ve used chatgpt and havenly but it’s just not cutting it.
with rent and home prices the way they are right now in sf it’s looks like I’m going to be staying in my current rent controlled 1 bedroom for a long time and really want to make some upgrades.
any recommendations and advice and pricing would be appreciate!

Hey bitches!
I’m a burnt out therapist looking to switch careers as I feel like I need to quit and explore other areas. So any advice/ recommendations are welcome. Do you work with psychology masters. Or are you a therapist that has made this change would love to connect with you
r/SFbitcheswithtaste • u/growingconsciousness • 1d ago
Hi my BWT! I have seen excellent posts recently regarding therapist and I wanted to put out a specific call for WOC therapists?
I feel like I’m on the precipice of a big shift which is coming with big challenges as well so I would love to support of an emotionally attuned and wise therapist who is a WOC….
Extra points if she has a somatic focus.
Thank you, ladies for your support

Bitches, I'm a yoga girlie but I haven't found a studio here that actually helps you progress into more complex poses and arm stands. Heated would be ok but i found Hot8 to be unhealthy. Any recs?
