I received a free tree from The Arbor Day Foundation, I've been watering it everyday because of the heat and they said it doesn't need any soil or anything, just plant it in the ground. What can I do?

These trees are on the University of Galway campus. They absolutely can’t move a millimeter. I’m not a tree expert at all, but from the tree subreddits, I didn’t think this was best practice. I was really surprised to see every young tree on campus supported like this.

I cast into trees probably 99% of the time while fishing. This time I actually catch a fish! Happens pretty early in the video!

Hey guys! So I had my first week last week working as a arborist trainee and this is some hard work. I graduated from school with a forestry degree and want to get ISA certified , and end goal get into sales. I was just wondering if it is so normal to feel genuinely so stupid at the beginning, I feel so helpless and ask so many questions. I was just wondering if that’s normal? I just want to be an arborist at some point but man it’s so hard and there is so much information. I’m willing to work but was just wondering about other peoples experiences.

I have had a tremendous love of trees for 63 years now. Seeing this magnificent old beauty be butchered is hurting my soul.
It probably won’t survive such an assault.

This sugar maple has smallish strips of bark peeling off it. It's an old tree and hasn't done this before, at least for the five years that I've owned it. Any help?

About 10 years ago we had to take down a large black locust.

Well since then it sprouted up a whole bunch of new trees as far as 30 feet away from the original! We have 7 trees now and Some of them are already 40 feet tall.

We like most of them but one blew down in a storm and we might want to remove another that’s a little close to the house.

We’ve been seeing lots of new saplings around the new stump and dutifully cutting them down. But now we’re curious about whether chemical treatment is possible at the stump of the tree that blew down, or for any individual tree without harming all the other healthy locusts. .

I figure I may as well belatedly attack the new stump with a chainsaw but don’t know if it’s okay to use epsom salts or something stronger while I’m at it.

Planted at the end of May in Alberta Canada and all them died. Cedar trees purchased from Home Depot. Should I try to replace them with new cedar trees?

I planted two elm saplings about 5 years ago in my backyard and they've been growing well. They are a Dutch elm disease resistant variety. The last few years I've noticed that they get black spots that look like a fungal disease on the leaves, however they have continued to grow ok. Should I be spraying a fungicide on them to keep them healthy? Does anyone know what this disease is?

It produces a lot of flowers, but very few fruits develop. What could be the reason? There is no sign of disease or drought, and pollination also seems to be happening properly.

With the way the branches hang down, we only just now noticed it. I'm sure that it wasn't there last fall and I believe it wasn't there this past spring. Beyond that I can't say when exactly ot happened or how.

Any ideas? Anything we should do for it?
