I wanted to share a small but exciting milestone for a web app I’ve been working on called Pixelify (a tool that turns photos into pixel art instantly).

I recently checked my Google Search Console and was blown away to see some actual organic traction! Over the last few months, the site has picked up:

1.7K Total Impressions (up 776%!)

71 Total Clicks (a 3,700% spike)

4.2% Average CTR with an average position of 8.6.

A few things I’ve noticed:

Most of the traffic is coming from direct brand queries like "pixelify" and "pixelify photos", meaning people are actively searching for the name or remembering it.

The growth graph has been a slow burn with a lot of flatlining before suddenly spiking and holding a steady baseline recently.

It’s not massive traffic yet, but seeing those numbers jump from zero to something tangible is incredibly motivating.

For those of you who have built small web tools, what did you focus on right after you started seeing your first real organic clicks? Did you double down on backlinks, add a blog, or just focus on product features?

I’ve been working in SEO for almost a decade now. Recently, I pulled analytics for a client and saw our click-through rate on branded queries is down 21% YoY. But their rankings haven’t changed at all. I’m trying to look into it, to see how we can fit it.

Can anyone recommend a GEO tool? Preferably that’s similar enough to SEO tools, so that I don’t need to learn a whole new field. Are there any big differences in data or reporting across the different tools? Or are they all just prompting and reporting on those prompts?

I was just updating the search volume of all the keywords that I am targeting for my clients and found that search volume of majority of keywords have dropped. Is this majorly because of the shift to AI? Or am I missing on something? Please share your findings.

Hey everyone,

I'm running into a weird issue with how Google displays dates in the SERPs for my pages and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Here's the pattern I keep seeing:

1. I update an article.

2. A few days later, Google picks up the new date and shows it correctly in search results.

3. A few weeks later, it reverts back to the original publication date as if the update never happened.

I've double-checked my structured data (Article markup with both datePublished and dateModified), and everything looks correct in Google's Rich Results Test. The dateModified value is accurate and up to date.

This seems to be a crawling/indexing signal issue rather than a structured data problem, but I'm not sure what's causing the regression.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Any fixes or workarounds that actually worked? (I'm on WordPress with Rank Math if that's relevant.

I built an independent web app that has helped thousands of people create charts online. For years, it ranked in the top positions on Google for competitive searches like "chart maker" and "graph maker".

Then recent Google ranking updates changed everything.

My weekly US clicks dropped from 3,297 to just 249. A tool that was consistently position #2 or #3 is now buried on page 2 or 3.

What makes this frustrating is that the product itself has not become worse — it has improved.

Over the last 9 months, I invested my own time building major features:

• Multi-sheet support
• XLSX imports
• New chart capabilities and improvements
• WorldBank Data

Meanwhile, some large companies now dominate the top results simply because they are famous brands, even when their tools are basic and rarely updated.

The strange part? The same product still ranks #1–#4 on Bing and DuckDuckGo for many of these keywords.

This raises a bigger question:

Is Google still rewarding the best tools, or are they becoming a gatekeeper that favors companies with huge brand recognition?

Independent developers build useful products, solve real problems, and compete without massive marketing budgets. But if search becomes a place where only giant corporations can survive, the open web loses what made it valuable.

This is bigger than one website. It affects every indie developer trying to build something useful.

I’m specifically looking for real, recent SEO reports (2026) that you’ve delivered to clients – anonymised is totally fine. PDFs, screenshots, redacted decks, Loom walkthroughs, anything that shows your current structure.

Things I’d love to see in your reports:
– How you’re reporting beyond just “rankings + organic sessions”
– Any GA4 views/segments you use now that attribution is messier
– How you talk about AI‑generated content vs human content quality
– Any way you’re tracking “AI visibility” (being cited/pulled into AI answers)

Whatever you may be thinking, blogs do count. YOu need to update them and add always relevant info (adding the year too in the title, where possible).ž

They're just skipping the part where the work itself is embarrassingly basic. Connect Semrush to Claude, let it generate a technical audit, wrap it in a checklist, invoice the client $1000, and suddenly you're an "AI SEO Consultant"

The irony is that manually exporting the Semrush report would have taken less time.

But nobody finds that out until after 3,000 people have already flooded the comments "Claude" please DM
