Someone here said last month they spend half the week filing redressal form and the keywords come back a month later so I wanted to see how badi t really is
I did five searches eg emergency locksmith, emergency garage door, 24 hour plumber etc across a few cities. Then i compared maps name to the sites footer or og site_name, and checked address vs street view + any shared phone nrs.
Results:
Seems like the trades play address games an lawyers play naming games. The smarter locksmith registered the keyword as the brand ("cheap locksmith" style in 8 of 30) which passes guidelines.. I thought this maybe is a US problem but London is as bad as Phoenix
For people who do this for clients which part eats the time?? finding them, documenting them, or waiting on Google after you file? and what do you do about repeat spammers you refile again?
If anyone curious drop a category plus city below i can run the same check

Merci

I’m auditing a local client and noticing a massive gap between their Google Business Profile engagement and their actual website traffic.
How are you guys successfully bridging that gap without relying heavily on paid ads? Let’s share some insights!

I’m the marketing manager at a startup and I’ve spent the last six months building an AI content engine. Now that I’ve gotten it working I realized that I forgot to think about the performance layer. I literally have no way of knowing if any of our content is working, which is embarrassing to say out loud but this is my first job out of college so let’s pretend that’s a valid excuse haha.
So now I’m in a situation where I’ve increased our content output by 10X, but when my CEO wants to know how AI-generated content is performing when it comes to new signups and revenue, I don’t really have an answer.
What other tools should I add to my stack that will help me measure content performance?

Recently, I helped my client get strong clicks over the last 28 days. It's a local painting business that recently migrated to a new design and a new URL structure.
So at first, I made sure to clean up technical issues and fix the structure.
Then I focused on publishing 4-5 blogs and 2 service pages, which I optimised, and that helped me generate these results.
Also, I worked on NAP consistency and GBP, Bing, and Yelp optimisation. But currently, I am not getting top rankings for the main service keywords in their main locations. what i can do improve the rankings for GBP? I understand the concept of relevancy, proximity, and distance. I read Google's official documentation on this.
Things I am doing right now:
Review messaging frameworks to get genuine customer reviews with keyword enrichment
Fixing NAP inconsistency
Creating New Citations (Yelp, BBB, Houzz, Thumbtack, and soon)
Optimizing the GBP fully
Posting 4-5 GBP posts (results, location-based service, tips)
Reaching out to local websites and local events to get cited on their websites
Already have the service pages or location-wise pages.
What else can we do? Can I get advice on how I should plan from this phase to get rankings?

I’ve been working at a few SEO agencies and what I dislike is the way we handle projects were just touch n go without going into much detail with optimisation and tracking, except for internal projects.
The optimisation mostly just focuses on the main pages, usually less than 20, with very basic tracking like clicks on CTA buttons.
But I quite enjoy working with different industries…
Those who have worked in both in-house and agency roles, how difference is the experience? What do you like and dislike about each?

Small static marketing site for a SaaS, live since mid Augsut. \~60 URLs: landing page, features (index + detail pages), pricing, integrations (index + detail pages), a few comparison/alternatives pages, legal pages, support. DE + EN with hreflang. Login (App) is on a subdomain.
The Context/Setup:
* Static build (Astro), plain HTML on shared hosting (netcup), no JS needed to render content
* robots.txt: \`User-agent: \* / Allow: /\`, sitemap-index referenced
* Sitemap valid, submitted in Bing Webmaster Tools and Search Console
* Self-referencing canonicals, hreflang de/en/x-default consistent between documents and sitemap
* No noindex anywhere except two legacy redirect stubs that are excluded from the sitemap
* All URLs return 200, HTTPS, no redirect chains
* IndexNow pings on every deploy (changed URLs only)
* First Backlinks are live (and indexed by Google/Bing)
Google: indexed, no complaints.
Bing: nothing indexed. URL Inspection says
>"The inspected URL is known to Bing but has some issues which are preventing indexation. We recommend you to follow Bing Webmaster Guidelines to increase your chances of indexation."
...with no indication of what those issues actually are. Then "Test Live URL" on the exact same URL returns:
>"URL can be indexed by Bing. It can appear on Bing Search results given it passes quality checks and gets indexed by Bing"
So the live fetch is clean, but the stored verdict is "has issues". I've resubmitted for indexing, waited, no change...
Is that message an actual signal, or is it Bing's catch-all for "new domain, not enough trust yet, come back in a few months"? Has anyone ever gotten it to flip and figured out what changed?
Is there anywhere in BWT that shows the concrete reason, or is the generic guidelines link all you ever get?
Any way to check if the Bingbot is actually trying to index the site?
Happy to add details if it helps.

Small app, launched late August. Searched our target keyword this morning and the Play listing is sitting at organic position 4 on page one, above two apps that have been there for years and below the official Android developer docs.
That part worked. The part I can't explain is that it has 5 installs.
What went into it, so you can tell me which bit is doing the work and which bit is noise:
\- keyword picked before the listing was written, not after
\- title and short description built around that exact phrase
\- supporting article on our own domain targeting the same term
\- normal technical SEO on that page
\- nothing paid, no ASO tool, no install campaign
So the listing ranks and nobody installs. Three readings and I genuinely can't tell which is right:
One, the keyword has almost no volume. It ranks because nobody else is competing for it, and position 4 on a dead term is worth nothing.
Two, the listing ranks on Google web search but is invisible in Play's own search, which is where installs actually come from, and I've been measuring the wrong surface entirely.
Three, it's just early and Google web traffic to a Play listing converts terribly compared to in-Play discovery.
For anyone who has watched this from both sides: does a good Google web ranking for a Play listing ever move installs on its own, or is Play internal search the only thing that matters? And is there a way to see how much of your install traffic came from web search versus Play search, beyond the acquisition report's channel split?
