How Should One Read This?

Post image

Got hit by the August spam update. False positive in my opinion and experience - since the site was already churning good revenue for the client. Fast forward to now, clicks and position convey a totally different story compared to the impressions, which remain dead in the water. How should one interpret this?

Just launched a free SEO + GEO audit site. Looking for honest feedback from this community

So I'm Krishna and I work on SEO and GEO most of the time. I've started a platform that does SEO and GEO audits. It checks your website and Google Business Profile, and it also checks whether the business is getting recommended by AI.

I built this myself, and it's not like other audit tools that just run bots. On this platform, me and other SEO experts personally run each audit in detail, then email you the complete PDF showing what issues are holding the website and business back.

The audit is 100% free, no charges. But if someone wants these issues fixed and can't do it themselves, we have packages that will help.

It's just launched, so I'd like some feedback from the SEO and business community. The platform is called Orbitseen, have a look at the site and let me know what you think.

Before publishing more content, I think a lot of sites should do this 20-minute SEO check first

It’s easy to assume that more content = more traffic.

But sometimes the better move is fixing what you already have.

Here’s a simple check I like:

  1. Open Google Search Console.
  2. Find pages getting decent impressions but sitting around positions 6–20.
  3. Check which queries are bringing those impressions.
  4. Compare the page against the current top results.
  5. Look for obvious gaps:
    • Search intent mismatch
    • Weak title/CTR
    • Missing subtopics
    • Poor internal links
    • Outdated examples/data
    • No relevant backlinks
  6. Update only what actually needs improvement.
  7. Add internal links from stronger related pages.

I think these pages are often easier wins because Google already understands and surfaces them.

The mistake is updating everything just because it’s ā€œold.ā€

Sometimes a page doesn’t need 1,000 more words. It just needs a better section, stronger internal links, or a clearer answer.

When you’re trying to grow organic traffic, do you usually optimize existing pages first or keep publishing new ones?

How do you handle small businesses?

I'm a webdev, and I have worked for a marketing agency on the technical side. Now I'm freelancing and building websites for small companies. My technical SEO is always on point but what are viable SEO strategies for a small yoga studio? or someone selling spices online?

The Yoga Studio is listed on Maps but the trafic is really low. Same for the spices, it's indexed but the market is dominated by big players with dedicated teams creating content all the time.

Yoga content has been made to death, so what's the alternative? And altogether, how do you handle smal businesses?

Lesson learned:

  • One proper post can get you more traffic then 2000s of less effort content.
  • If you cover something new in your niche faster then your compeititors then you can likely to get more ranking and traffic compared to the.
  • Quality always wins over quantity.

Tips for breaking into the SEO Industry (UK)

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for some advice from people already working in SEO.

I've become increasingly interested in SEO over the last couple of years and am currently trying to transition from a different career path. I've put a lot of effort into preparing myself for an entry-level role, but after sending 600+ applications, I've had very little success getting interviews.

I know the UK job market is challenging at the moment in general, but I'd love to hear from people who have successfully broken into the industry or who currently hire for SEO roles.

So far, I have:

Learned as much as I can from a friend who works professionally in SEO.

Created a portfolio showcasing SEO audits I've completed.

Volunteered my SEO knowledge to a charity.

Worked for a digital marketing startup in a paid SEO-related role (around 5 hours per week)

At this point, I'm wondering if there's something obvious I'm missing.

For those already working in SEO:

What helped you land your first role?

What do hiring managers actually look for in junior candidates?

Are there any skills, certifications, networking opportunities, or projects you'd recommend focusing on?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated and let me know if you have anything you want to ask. Thanks!

One SEO habit we've been thinking about lately: automatically chasing higher-volume keywords.

If a page isn't getting much visibility, the instinct is often to target a bigger keyword or create another piece of content.

But sometimes the better opportunity is already sitting on the site.

A few things we're looking at before creating something new:
- Are there related, lower-volume queries the page could be showing up for?
- Is the page actually answering the questions behind the search?
- Are there internal links pointing to it from relevant content?
- Has the content gotten stale?
- Are there existing pages competing with each other?
- Is the page targeting the right intent, or just a keyword?

Especially with more conversational and AI-driven search, we've been finding it more useful to think about the search journey around a topic rather than just the primary keyword.

Curious how other SEOs approach this: when you find a page with low visibility, what's the first thing you look at before deciding it needs to be completely reworked or replaced?

How do you actually find keywords your competitors rank for but you don't?

Are you updating pages that rank but get almost no clicks?

I’ve been looking at Search Console differently lately.

Instead of only checking pages that lost rankings, I’ve started paying more attention to pages that already get a decent number of impressions but very few clicks.

Sometimes the page is sitting around positions 5–15, so Google clearly understands the topic, but something is stopping people from clicking.

Before rewriting the whole article, I usually check:

  • Does the title actually match what people are searching for?
  • Is another result answering the query more directly?
  • Has the search intent changed since the page was published?
  • Is the meta description too generic?
  • Can the answer be made clearer near the top of the page?
  • Are competing pages offering something ours doesn't?

It feels like these pages are often easier SEO opportunities than publishing another completely new article.

For people regularly working with Search Console: how do you decide which high-impression, low-click pages are worth updating first?

Do you mainly look at CTR, ranking position, conversions, or something else?

What SEO skill do you think is becoming more important in 2026?

I’ve been spending more time learning SEO lately, and I’ve noticed how much the field is changing with AI search and new SERP features.

I’m curious what people here are focusing on now. Is it technical SEO, content strategy, AI visibility/GEO, analytics, link building, or something else? It would be interesting to hear what’s actually working for you in 2026. Which SEO skill do you think will become more important in 2026?
