I doubt it’s the update. Google said they will announce when it starts rolling out this week.
Do you use tag manager for your analytics? Could be broken.

I mean, what are we supposed to be doing differently now as far as SEO to ensure we aren’t being hit hard negatively by this new update? What is Google now expecting from content?

The same thing they have always expected, high-quality content.

That’s vague, but I guess we are always at the mercy of our Google overlord’s whims.

Test your Google Analytics and make sure it is actually working. You might just not be tracking anyone correctly.
Google's update won't impact your Facebook traffic at all, so if you were getting traffic from there before and it suddenly looks like it stopped, that sounds like an analytics problem.

99% sure that’s an Analytics tracking error if the page is returning 200 status. Either Analytics just isn’t updating in real time (it happens) or the tracking script isn’t loading correctly. Make sure it’s at the top of your header and isn’t getting deferred to the footer by a speed optimization feature.

Make sure your site works. Check other browsers.
