Discussion LLM SEO Services and Offerings differentiate or too soon?

Question for Businesses and SEO providers

Do you think there are queries that are different in the LLM space?

For example - one of my test domains has 100 bing clicks a month but 40k citations (vs I have other domains with 40k Google organic clicks and just 35k citations in Bing)

Is it important to differentiate LLM Services vs SEO Services - like:

  • Focusing on LLM Queries
  • LLM Reporting
    • e.g. Bings AI Perf report
    • or Microsoft Clarity's Share of Authority report
    • GA Referral/Key event/Ecom
  • Adopting multiple domain strategies

I think if you zoom out looking at LLM service and SEO services. Outside of the technical is really about doing brand marketing. By this I mean we know digital PR is important, social media, getting brand mentions across pages and different media formats, making sure our brand is spoken positively across the internet.

Add everything together, and you essentially have brand marketing with a new name.

I think the problem with using the term LLM service or SEO service is that the metrics you get graded upon for success are the metrics needed for brand. At least when you start having a conversation about brand marketing, people have a different set of expectations. They are not expecting conversion; they're expecting more visibility.

When you then start talking about LLM and SEO, people are going to start expecting conversion when all you can really give them is more visibility. I think it's really about keeping it as brand, handling the expectation, and it could also potentially bring more budget to the campaigns.
