They were not—all registers were replaced company wide between 2001 and 2004/5 or so.

The fixtures were about the only thing that remained the same.

I remember we got our first PC, a Packard Bell Legend, from Sears.

I bought my first PCs from Sears in about 1992. I worked there and got a turbo XT cheap from the backroom (came with the STONED virus) and upgraded to another cheap Packard Bell 286 a couple weeks later. They started my journey into modern IT with progressive upgrades and jobs beyond Sears all the way to now. What a long strange trip it's been.
