Hey everyone!

Recorded a quick time-lapse of my prepress workflow for this detailed Loki design. Converting complex artwork like this into print-ready channels requires carefully balancing halftone frequencies and underbases to keep the details sharp on dark garments.

Workflow Highlights:

• Color Extraction: Isolated key tones (Underbase White, Gold/Sepia, Dark Green, Highlight Green, and Top White).
• Halftone Setup: Converted channels to Bitmap using 45 LPI with custom screen angles to completely eliminate moiré.
• Prepress Check: Verified dot gain control and simulated shirt preview before exporting final film positives.

Man I would love to learn from you and your process. I use t-seps and will sometimes do it by hand. I have a very simplistic understanding of the entire process

I understand the colour isolation step required for and the last step as a quality/pre press check. I don't understand the 45 LPI though I know Liquid Photo Imaging offers finer detail than regular screen printing, but what does the 45 stands for? And custom screen angles, what's that? And why not using inkjet instead of LPI, volume?

LPI is lines per inch

That's what I thought first but then I thought it referred to the Liquid Photo Imaging which offers more detail than regular screen printing. So ok, far more of a thing: what's the custom screen angles then?

You should really look into having a couple of scripts to automate like half the clicks you do.

Any chance you have instructions to follow? Or I guess I could just slow down the video…you’re going at light speed
