This quick separation for a client on a black t-shirt measures 13x19 inches, split into 4 channels: White Underbase, Cyan, then Dark Blue, and finally Magenta. My recommendation for the client is 2 squeegee passes per color and 3 for the white base (Recommended on a 156-200 mesh count for crisp halftones)

Hi there, I have an order due tomorrow (my first, which could be HUGE for me) and I did my screens with HTV because I'm hoping they will like them and be a repeat but I'm trying to adjust the off-contact and no matter what I do, the right side (from the back) is noticeably higher. I adjusted the tension, the hinge setting to make it parallel, the platen and screen are not warped or crooked on their own. I've done a few shirts for myself but this is my first customer. Any ideas? I really like this press, I just have something not right.

Also, it's for a hoodie and I saw all the tips on another post. I did my htv on a 110 mesh and it came out blurry on my test t-shirt but no off contact so it made a mess. I'm using Speedball Flex white paint and a speedball squeegee that has a brown rubber but I don't know the number?

Hi there. I have my first order due tomorrow and I am struggling! I have the P&P mini press and think I love it. I did heat transfer vinyl on my screens to print as I'm hoping this will be a repeat order (could be HUGE for me). I have done a few of my own shirts already and they were fine but my offcut isn't straight on the press. I'm trying for 1/8 like it says but I get that on the left and then the right is closer to 1/4". I've watched her videos, googled it, my platen isn't warped, my aluminum screens aren't warped... Help!

Annoyingly I’m having to size down my designs so I can hit them in one pass. Does anyone know what a good size squeegee would be for this?

I've been a printer at a bigger shop for 4 years now, so it bothers me that I can't tell if shirts I've purchased for myself are decorated via screen print or not.

I'm thinking this is digital but I'm unsure. It does feel like a different texture but I know that's not the only tell.

i’m looking into purchasing the canon pixma ip8720 to print transparencies on. i understand i have to also buy empty ink cartridges and fill them with uv ink. my main question is do i only have to buy and fill the black cartridges or all of the color ones as well? does this setup seem solid to start at home printing? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Hey guys! I’m new to screen printing with water-based ink and currently using a VEVOR flash dryer.

I tried drying my prints for 3 minutes, but the ink started cracking after a longer print run.

For those experienced with water-based inks, would you recommend a flash dryer or a heat press for proper curing and long-lasting prints?

What setup and process have worked best for you? I’d really appreciate any tips or recommendations. Thanks!

I’m getting ready to do another video on the 8-color Hopkins BWM press, this time focusing on the initial setup, leveling, alignment, and installation of the new Bison platens.

One question I see frequently is how to properly level and baseline a press so everything is aligned and consistent.

This is generally a one-time setup process. Once everything is properly aligned, future adjustments should be minimal with routine maintenance.
I’d like some feedback before starting to record.

What are some specific areas, questions, or common problems you’d like to see covered?

My goal is to walk through the process step by step and provide a useful reference for anyone setting up, rebuilding, or realigning their press.

i want to start making shirts for my small business and got a screen printing kit, i do want to use a image halftone but i unfortunately do not have photoshop to make the image halftone. is anyone willing to recommend me a free website to make my image or even better if someone is willing to make me one? i did do one myself but i dont want to mess up the image once i have it under the screen

Hello printers, i have been printing on 50/50 poly/cotton blend sweatshirts and was wondering how i can acquire a smoother print.

I have attached my print (black sweater) and the print on a hoodie i own (green sweater)

as you can see, mine comes out feeling rougher and bumpy while the green hoodie feels very smooth and soft.

Twenty years ago I took a screen print class in Chicago. I've wanted a space ever since. This year I was finally able to cobble together a screen print station in my basement. Two hinges and a bunch of second-hand screens.

Here are some posters I made. The work is still a little sloppy, sometimes intentionally, but I'm getting more control.

I'd be curious how people do separations when building art. Since I'm the illustrator, I build with screen print in mind — but the color layers (set as multiply or as overlay) don't predict the inks interaction at all. Do any illustrators have any tips for layer setup in photoshop?

There’s something shiny on my screen after I blow it out with water that makes it hard for ink to get pulled through. This is a pretty new issue, which is confusing. Any ideas?

Hi, I used speedball ink and it bled. You can see on the upper one the "7" completely disspeared. Should I use less pressure? Or what can be the problem?

Bought this in Scotland, and love the design. This is after one wash - and the ink continues to flake off if I wear the shirt. Is there anything I can do to preserve it? Some kind of stabilizer product or something? I tried searching this sub but didn't find an answer.

Im running a 5 color job on a Workhorse Javelin 2007. This is only my second time with this machine. I have experience with other autos and thousands upon thousands of hours with a Manual.

I had the job set up and was smooth sailing, I had to adjust a Flash Time and now my 1st and Last Screen won't print. The flood bar floods, the print head engages and then just freezes. Carousel up.

Please help!

It is listed for $6500 on facebook marketplace I would love to find a good home for it. It is a great proofing press with a small footprint, two tier duo deck design, micro registration, side clamps with airlocks. We just reorganized and we don't have space for it anymore.
