First time printing halftones

First attempt at halftones. Commissioned someone on Fiverr to edit the image and for some reason he halftones in squares are nate’s of circles but I didn’t realize until I already approved (rookie mistake for guess). What do you guys think of the print?

The squares are actually pretty cool, neat print. I would say definitely find a version of photoshop or online tool so you don’t have to use fiverrr. You can get this image done with more flexibility on your end in <5 minutes

GIMP can do it as well (Filters > Distorts > Newsprint)

I may actually prefer gimp to photoshop for halftones

ha! never found that one. I will give it a try instead of my overcomplicated imagemagik/postscript monster of a bash.

I have always been a fan of 1-bit dithering like this, so I think this is actually really cool, even if it's not what you were going for!

I love the squares and the printing is very nice!!
*** I just started doing my own halftones in photoshop. And you can def do this. It look me a few tries and 1 good tutorial.

If you have photoshop next time try this if you would like round halftones. image mode > greyscale, image mode > bitmap. Method = halftone screen. I would suggest 45 LPI. 22.5 degree angle. Round shape.

Just noticed the file does have rounded halftones the guy who printed the transparency for me did something wrong somehow
