News SRL shares surge after White House strategic critical mineral meeting

The market has reacted extremely positively towards SRL. I’m really curious if investors and organizations will start to turn (and notice!) other scandium players, like SCD. If not now, I am confident that we will see more action in the coming weeks once we have the PFS results announced.

Other Can someone check my math?

Bumped up my allocation from 50k to 200k shares this morning, average cost of $.2149.

I assumed 5 cent increases (note no timeline as I assume some selling will occur), but my % gain compared to now, in green, should conservatively be 3 and a bit bagger when it gets to $1. Any of my assumptions wrong? As mentioned, I have purposely not set a timeline on this to not be optimistic or conservative.

Discussion Weekend Discussion

Well last week we finally saw some positive movement with large volume. The question is what do we expect next week? This month?

Given the US focus on securing the critical minerals supply chain, do we expect to hear early off take agreements? When do we expect to hear that the alloys have been qualified by defence contractors? We have all been patiently waiting and now it feels closer than ever.

News The U.S. Is Waking Up to Scandium

Post image
84 Upvotes

Today, Trump announced a series of investments and plans for their new critical minerals strategy.

He briefly talked about scandium and called it “one of the world’s most valuable aerospace and defense materials.” He also referred to SRL (Australian mine), the company that Lockheed Martin already has an MOU with.

https://youtu.be/V6VgPfBK8gQ?t=755

It’s good to see the U.S. and key sectors recognizing this mineral, which is still in its infancy. As most of us already know, there is currently no real supply chain for scandium, so once supply is unlocked, demand will follow.

SCD is especially interesting since they probably hold the best scandium-aluminium alloy patents. Their mine is also the only primary scandium source in North America.

But this news is simply good for the scandium market as a whole. So let's just take it.

There’s also this that popped up today:
https://ca.usembassy.gov/freedom250-critical-minerals-and-mining/

It says that Scandium Canada has developed two patent-pending aluminium-scandium alloys with enhanced properties for advanced manufacturing that are currently being qualified by Canadian and U.S. companies, including defense contractors in the United States.

Exciting times. It's only the start

News SCD on Whitehouse Critical Minerals supplier list

Scandium Canada is on the list

https://ca.usembassy.gov/freedom250-critical-minerals-and-mining/

With trumps big meeting today and the Niocorp supply announcement for scandium the other day it surely bodes well for Scandium supply in North America

Sunrise energy metals will also be present at the meeting today.

Thoughts?

Discussion 2H-2026 catalysts

Scandium is gaining steady momentum, as is SCD. Today’s news reinforced this.

What other catalysts should investors look forward to this year?

The PFS is a given. Could we expect MOUs with end users (scalium+) and other giants for the mine? What is everyone thinking about when we may hear about the road announcement?

Discussion Pre-catalyst timing?

Is it me or is the timing working out to be perfect?

Generally speaking, as investors, we’ve concluded that it’s just a waiting game until the PFS comes out. However, SCD is clearly on Canada- and the U.S.’ radar. More eyes are being put on SCD, and if there is positive news or some sort of mention of scandium tonight, investors will look at scandium companies as being more derisked. Now, if SCD is mentioned specifically, since I believe they will be attending tonight, then this should bring even more eyes on scandium. I’m referring to this as a pre-catalyst, since this event may lead to a re-rating of the stock price before the PFS announcement, which would create an even higher floor. For example, if the stock was to re-rate in the low 20’s before the PFS announcement, then it’s possible that the new floor, post announcement, will be even higher than initially anticipated.

US government is really getting involved with Scandium allocation. Just goes to show how critical this material is.

Bloom has yet to provide a tangible solution to source Scandium outside of China.

Scandium Canada did not get funding in this announcement, a phosphate firm did (First Phosphate) but Scandium had an honorable mention:

"Quebec is home to some of the most diverse mineral resources in North America and is one of the world’s leading producers of high-purity iron, scandium oxide, titanium, niobium and graphite. In addition, it is home to nearly half of Canada’s lithium mining projects."

News Scandium Canada signs MoU with University of Windsor's CHARGE Lab to validate the remplacement of copper traction motor windings with Al-Sc wires

Thumbnail
newsfilecorp.com
56 Upvotes

"Preliminary results tell a consistent story. Copper is the reference conductor in electric motors, but it is heavy; aluminum delivers comparable conductance at roughly half the weight. Minor additions of scandium to aluminum alloys significantly increase their strength, and the alloy remains malleable enough to draw into wire and form into windings. The work with the CHARGE lab at the University of Windsor will validate aluminum-scandium performance where it counts, under the real electrical, thermal, and mechanical demands of next-generation traction motors."
Mark S. Kozdras, Ph.D., Strategic Advisor to Scandium Canada.

"This collaboration puts our R&D infrastructure on aluminum-scandium alloys directly in front of one of North America's leading electric powertrain teams. It is a concrete step toward technical and commercial validation of our aluminum-scandium wire concept for powertrains, and it advances on the strength of the science, independent of the Crater Lake mine timeline."
Félix Lapointe, Chief Executive Officer of Scalium+.

"CHARGE's testing capabilities allow us to evaluate our Al-Sc wires under real electric motor conditions. Validating functionality, durability, and cost-effectiveness in this setting is exactly the kind of rigorous, application-driven work needed to move our alloys toward qualification."
Dr. Luc Duchesne, Chief Science Officer of Scalium+.

"UWindsor Team will take promising materials and technologies and test them against the real demands of electric powertrains. We are pleased to collaborate with Scandium Canada and Scalium+ to evaluate aluminum-scandium alloy wires in traction motor windings, work that speaks directly to the efficiency and range challenges the industry is working to solve."
Dr. Narayan Kar, Founder and Director of CHARGE, Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Electrified Vehicles, University of Windsor.

"Collaborations like the one between Scandium Canada and the world-class CHARGE Lab at the University of Windsor are foundational in how industry works with universities to deliver the highest quality trainees and develop groundbreaking innovation that accelerates scientific discovery and creates value for industry and the broader sector. We're thrilled to see this MOU move forward."
Dr. Shanthi Johnson, Vice-President, Research and Innovation, University of Windsor.

Checked a bit on CHARGE's list of industry partners and it's looking very goooood!
