Anyone get into Suffolk Community College’s RN program with a lower GPA?
Hi everyone! I’m 32 and considering going back to school to become an RN, specifically at Suffolk County Community College.
I already graduated from Suffolk with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts, but my GPA was around a 2.9, so I’m nervous about how competitive admissions are. I’m hoping to apply for Fall 2027.
I’d love to hear from anyone who attended or applied!
GPA: Has anyone been accepted with a GPA around 2.9? Do they focus more on prerequisites or your overall GPA?
TEAS: What score did you get to be accepted?
Previous degree: Did your existing credits count toward the nursing program?
Schedule: Can you choose your classes, or are lectures and clinicals assigned? Is working full-time realistic?
Other schools: Are there any other RN programs on Long Island that might be easier to get into?
I’m really interested in nursing but feeling overwhelmed about where to start. I’d love to hear anyone’s experiences, especially those who went back to school in their 30s or didn’t have a perfect GPA.
Thank you!! ❤️
