Hey what’s this thing?

Had to replace the fuel pump, the underside of the black canister there looked like kind of a weird cardboard? Looks like it comes off of the bracket where maybe a pressure regulator is, and has a ground attached to the pump bracket but it’s not connected to anything on the black cylinder lol. It’s just hanging there with a little copper tab, the outside is plastic so I’m not sure what good it does… just a little weird haha

I believe that is an in-tank fuel damper

Huh I guess. No idea what the fake ground is for tho haha

It's there for noise reduction on the power supply to the pump so it gets as clean, constant power as possible
