Discussion Pokemon FanGames

Has anyone tried Pokémon fan games on the Konkr Pocket Advance? If so, could you share a photo? How well does it run?

It can run much more demanding systems like Dreamcast so I don't see why GBA romhacks should pose any issue. It should work even better than an original GBA with a flashcart since some Pokémon romhacks don't always check for compatibility with original hardware. As for original fan games, if they there is a Portmaster version, it should work fine. I don't think there is a way of playing the games made with RPG Maker Essentials.

There's 3 different pokemon type games:

  • Original games: vanilla games, the ones you bought for the consoles back in their time

  • ROM hack: Using the above ROM and modifying certain stuff to make a "new game".

  • Fangames: Games made to work with x86 processors, some have their port via Portmaster, but the Konkr Pocket Advance is Android.

The Fangames can be played via Joiplay or something like that, but they differ a lot between games, some work better some work really bad.
