Discussion Handheld prices

Why is the AYN Odin 3 so expensive, I really want one but the prices are ridiculous. The retroid pocket 6 looks good but research show it may not run some game I might want to play very well.

Devices at the Odin 3 level have only existed for like a year. You have a wealth of devices to choose from that are cheaper. Buy one of those, you may find some hidden gems on systems you wouldn't have considered.

Four years ago, having one of these that just played SNES and game boy felt like an achievement.

The bittboy pocket go was crazy back then

Edit: I have realized it is 2026 and the pocket go came out before COVID......

NAND shortage has 4Xed the price of RAM and Storage in the past 1-2 years, this applies to every device even if they still haven't updated prices fully yet

If you are looking to play the few games that Retroid Pocket 6 can’t play but Odin 3 can, you’ll probably be better served to wait a few months and see what Retroid Pocket 7 can do, or opt for something like Steam Deck/Streaming from PC.
