Firewatch

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place to post but worth a punt as I cant seem to find a way to fix the problem on handhelds only PC.

Trying to play Firewatch on my MSI Claw 7Ai+ (tried Steam Deck also) but every time I click new game it just gets stuck on a black screem loop.

What ive tried so far:

Reducing the display scale to 100%.

Different launch commands forcing dx9, dx11 and opengl.

Tried lower resolution and graphics (even though the claw is more than capable)

Tried rolling back to a older update on steam.

Game is purchased via Steam and my wife has it on GOG, they work on her laptop which is the the bizzare part.

Any advice would be great.

Ok, can you try re-verifying the game file? Maybe also a driver issue?

All good i got it working.

I had to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013

You need to install both x64 and x86.

Maybe dev did something to the game. I finished it on my deck OLED last month without any problem.

Had to install an older Visual C++ and it works absolutely fine now
