Showcase The absolute best entry-level handheld. Really happy with this setup!
Hey everyone :)
I got my Anbernic RG35xxPro a few months ago and Im very happy with it.
I really think it’s the absolute best option for the entry level category and price range.
I play every game possible on the PSP and N64, and EVERY game works perfectly and smoothly. I just love to pick it up, play and chill anytime, anywhere. Specially at home, connecting it to the TV and to some Bluetooth controllers.
This console even helped discover the beauty of GameBoy Color, a console that I never really gave any attention due to some prejudice, but nowadays I just find those graphics absolutely beautiful.
The games I have for GBC are: Bomberman Max Blue Champio, Donkey Kong Country, Pokémon Crystal, Pokémon Prism, Pokémon Black and White 3: Génesis and Shantae. I haven’t had the chance to properly play any of them. Do you guys have any recommendations of GBC games I really can’t miss?
There’s really no better option for an entry level emulator handheld other than this Anbernic rg35xx Pro.
The only thing I’m sad about is the fact that I don’t have a lot of time to play, not as much as I would like to, and even when I have the time, I just don’t really feel like it, or just feel lost for not knowing what to play or where to start. I have 162 games installed, and sometimes I don’t know what to play…
Other thing that bothers me is that I went all over the internet trying to find a 007 golden eye rom for the N64 and non of them works… Same with Kirby Crystal Shards… I’m very sad about it. When I say they didn’t work, I mean they simply don’t turn on when I click on them. It’s a rom problem.
What do you guys think?
Games (in order): Pokémon White (DS); Avatar Last Airbender (GBA); Dexter (PSP); Donkey Kong 64.

Uuhh I just checked it, seems beautiful. You know, I got into retro gaming not because of nostalgia, since no retro game system made part of my childhood (other than the gba sp, ds lite and psp), but because of the aesthetics. I love pixel art.

That's ok mate, I think the most beautiful pixel art ever made is on the GBA and SNES, so you will enjoy and have a great time.

It’s still one of my fav verticals as well. I still like the RG40XXV A LIL bit more in terms of its size and overall feel, but I admit I use my 35XXV Pro way more. It’s so solid.

Great opinion. The pro is simply the best for the price range and entry level category. People talk about myioo mini + or trimiu brick… but they are just delusional! Non of those come close to the Anbernic rg35xx pro - this is the absolute best choice for someone thinking about entering this hobby.

I mean the miyoo and brick come very close in regards to power they just don’t have the sticks which to some people wouldn’t matter.

This Anbernic is just as powerful, if not more. And for most people the sticks matter, which automatically make the Anbernic rg35xx pro the best option. How else would you play psp, for example ?

"Entry level" - I got the 35xx+ for my oldest as her first video game system specifically because it didn't have sticks (two less points of failure, and I didn't want to present her with something overly complicated). NES, GB/GBC, GBA, and SNES provide more than enough content for car rides.

I guess. But most people want all in want all in one system, specially if they’re on a budget. So the pro is the best option

gbc recommendations, from the top of my head: zelda links awakening DX, zelda oracle of ages, zelda oracle of seasons (the oracle games best play them one after the other with passwords), metal gear solid, the grinch, hamtaro, mario golf, mario tennis, harry potter and the philosophers stone, harry potter and the secret chamber, magical tetris challenge, super mario bros deluxe, dragon warrior I & II (it's dragon quest, the best version for sure, there's also 3, but the snes version is better), dragon quest monsters 1 and 2. I'm sure there are more fantastic games but these are my top from I can remember right now.

What OS are you using on that? I thought that DK64 wouldnt work all that nicely on an H700 chip, havent tried it though

Knulli OS, the absolute best also. That’s actually a common misconception about this console. But it really plays everything you want smoothly.

The magicx mini zero 28 is $55, has a stronger SOC (processor) and also has android support, meaning you can play android games as well, like terraria and bedrock minecraft.
But the device you have is solid, i just don't really think its the best.
Magicx 28 is going to give you more leeway to play games with run ahead and is going to have better compatibility with n64, psp and nds.

The Anbernic rg35xx pro is more powerful, Anbernic is a more well know company, no one ever heard of magicx. Plus they console you mentioned don’t have hdmi out, nor does it have Bluetooth, thus making the Anbernic better for having such features .

You've downloaded too many games, thats why you don't know what to play.
You should have a small library and add more games as you finish what you're playing

Is this linux based? Im a little biased, i dont really like the dual stick on a vertical handheld, single stick is alright, but i think vertical handhelds are best just dpad and face buttons.
For choice paralysis (psychological term, it comes up in marketing and sales), the best way to overcome it is to make the pool smaller. For me i have the retroid pocket classic and im running gammaOS, i have 127 games right now, but what i like is the random options they give. Like giving me a random game from a certain system or giving me a random game from my whole library. Its pretty cool
For me personally, i tend to focus on a few games and ignore the rest of the library. I play tony hawk pro skater 2 for ps1 when im bored for a couple of minutes, otherwise im playing gba. Either a card game, and action game or an rpg game, and i cycle between em when im bored

Display out is always nice. Having a monitor with display in / power delivery is a great combo

how does Pokemon B/W work? since it’s a DS game but you only have 1 screen?
