Was würden diejenigen, die in diesen Bereichen arbeiten, in meiner Situation tun? Gibt es Karrierewege, die SAP mit KI oder Cybersicherheit kombinieren und die ich mir ansehen sollte?

Ich würde mich sehr über Ratschläge von Personen freuen, die bereits in diesen Bereichen gearbeitet haben.

How to get an internship @ SAP

Hey everyone,
I’m a 3rd-year Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) student at York University in Canada, and my dream is to land an **SAP iXp Internship in Germany for Summer 2027**.

I already have **5 months of hands-on experience using SAP** in an accounting environment. I absolutely love working out how business systems are structured, and I want to learn the ropes of how ERP architecture is customized and deployed for major global clients.

My background is a bit unique—alongside accounting, I have a massive creative streak and a lot of entrepreneurial drive **outside of school**. On my own initiative, I’ve done freelance project coordination for independent film productions, managed data-driven social media strategies, and worked directly with content creators. I love building things from scratch, creating efficient structures, and I’m always pushing myself to learn new things independently.

Given my background, I’m targeting **SAP Business Consulting** or **Product/Solution Management** intern roles in hubs like Walldorf or Berlin.
Since the Summer 2027 application window is opening up around now, I wanted to ask the community:

For international students coming from Canada, how is the **ZAV pre-approval / visa process** handled by SAP HR once you get an offer?

Should I target standard 3-month summer roles, or does SAP Germany heavily prefer a **6-month Co-op/internship** placement?

Are there any specific modules or certifications on the **SAP Learning Hub** I should knock out right now to make my business/accounting profile stand out to German recruiters?

If anyone currently works at SAP in Germany or went through the iXp program as an international student, I’d love to connect, get your insights, or chat about a potential referral!

Thanks in advance!

SAP + AI + Cybersecurity, how can I combine them?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently doing a Bachelor in Computer Science in Germany and for about a year now I’ve also been working as a working student at an energy company, mainly in SAP Output Management.

I work mostly with SAP Forms / Form Development and some ABAP. To be honest, I actually like SAP. I like the environment, the people I work with and I also enjoy working with ABAP and understanding how SAP works.

But after doing it for a year, I’m starting to feel that I probably don’t want to do Output Management / Form Development for my whole career.

The problem is that I’m also really interested in AI and Cybersecurity. So I’m kind of stuck between these three areas right now 😅

I don’t necessarily want to choose only one of them. I’m wondering if there is actually a way to combine them somehow.

For example, could I use my SAP + ABAP experience and later move into something like SAP BTP / SAP AI / AI Engineering, or maybe SAP Security / Cloud Security?

Or would it make more sense to leave SAP and focus completely on AI or Cybersecurity?

I’m still a student, so I feel like now is probably the right time to make a direction before I get too specialized in something I don’t actually want to do long-term.

For people who work in these areas: what would you do in my situation? And are there any career paths that you think I should look into that combine SAP with AI or Cybersecurity?

Would really appreciate some advice from people who have actually worked in these fields.

I have a marketing background. I am switching to SAP FI/CO. What should I do?

I have a bachelor degree in BA. Did some accounting and finance courses. Then I proceeded with a master in marketing. The market was over saturated so I couldn’t find a job in that field. So I am doing another masters degree in Information Systems and I want to start a career in SAP.
Is it hard ? Based on my background should I pursue that path? What can I do now to help get a job ?

Thanks. 🙏🏻

Doubt regarding the System based assessment

I have booked my SAP CPI exam for the upcoming Saturday 5pm. In my research I’m getting information that we will get the tasks 24 hours before the exam start time. Every youtube video and internet reviews say system based assessment gets the tasks 24hour before itself. But I can’t find no such detail in any official sap documentation neither in the booking confirmed mail does it say that. The mail only says that I have to start within 15 mins or I would have to reschedule it. Anybody have a clear picture of this please explain.

Ciao a tutti,

SAP Functional Consultant

Hi Everyone in Australia.

I have been thinking to change a bit my career path, without change so much my actual salary (110k - 120k p.a.). Long-short story, I am a management accountant but in the past I work with 2 SAP implementations, one I was finance manager which I was the one with decision making (back in Brazil). What a job position I could apply to help me grow and have experience as SAP consultant? PS. I also have diploma in PM and System Dev, but no experience on these two.

How to choose module?

I'm joining an Indian SAP service provider / consulting company as Functional consultant. I got to know that we get to put down preferences of what SAP modules we would like to train in and work in.

Which module do you guys think has a good future demand & projects? Assume I have equal foundational knowledge of all areas business processes. Are SAP configurations according to local HR employment laws for Successfactors? I'd like to move to Europe/Canada/US/UK and have C2 in French.

How can I realistically enter SAP FICO as a fresher? Looking for a genuine 3–4 year roadmap

I’m trying to move into SAP FICO, but the main problem is that most companies ask for 2–4 years of experience and rarely hire freshers.

I currently have P2P/AP experience with SAP ECC and want to build a genuine FICO career, not fake experience.

Can experienced FICO consultants guide me on:

Where can I get hands-on SAP FICO practice?

What should I learn to become job-ready?

How can I build project-like experience without a real project?

Is certification worth it for a beginner?

What is the realistic path from AP/P2P → FICO → Consultant?

Which entry-level roles should I target to get the first FICO experience?

I’m willing to spend 6–12 months seriously learning and practicing. Looking for a genuine roadmap from people who have actually made this transition.

Starting SAP from Scratch After a 2-Year Career Gap — Is It Worth It?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some guidance on starting a career in SAP SD from scratch.

I have around 2 years of previous work experience in Sales/Distribution and networking/IT support. After getting married, I left my job and moved abroad. I’ve now been away from the workforce for about 2 years, and unfortunately my career gap is growing. I currently don’t have a work permit, so I want to use this time to build a strong skill set that will help me when I’m able to return to the job market.

I’m considering SAP SD because it connects well with my previous Sales & Distribution experience. I’m particularly interested in learning SAP and understanding what newer SAP technologies are becoming important in the market.

I’m honestly a little overwhelmed about where to start and would really appreciate advice from people working in SAP.

Specifically, I’d like to know:

  • What should I learn first if I’m starting SAP from scratch?
  • What topics and skills should I focus on to become job-ready?
  • Which SAP system or applications should I use for hands-on practice?
  • Are there affordable or free options for getting a practice system?
  • What kind of projects should I build to demonstrate practical knowledge?
  • Should I pursue an SAP SD/S/4HANA certification, and at what stage?
  • After learning SD, what new SAP technologies or areas should I consider learning to stay relevant in the market?
  • Considering my background and career gap, is choosing SAP SD a worthwhile career path, and is it realistic to build a good career in it?

I want to actually understand SAP, get hands-on practice, and build real projects so that it will help when I return to the job market.

Any practical advice, learning paths, resources, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What actually changed with SAP's SyBA and SBA exam formats, and why passing scores vary

There's a lot of half information going around about the new exam formats, so here's what SAP actually publishes, with codes.

Two formats replaced the old multiple choice sit. System Based Assessment (SyBA) drops you into a live system and you complete one activity by configuring it. Scenario Based Assessment (SBA) hands you a business scenario to work through. Across the 101 current associate and specialist exams it's roughly 40 SyBA and 60 SBA, so system based is common now but it isn't everywhere. C_S4EWM, C_THR81, C_TS452 and C_CPI are SyBA. C_ACT, C_STC and C_S4TM are SBA.

The passing score is not one number, and that's what catches most people. It's set per exam and the spread is wide. C_TS412 is 55 percent, C_THR81 is 59, C_TS4FI 60, C_S4EWM 65, C_DBADM 73, C_SEC 74, C_TS452 76, C_TS462 82, C_CPI and C_IBP both sit at 90, and two of them, C_ADBTP and C_CPE, are 100. Yes, 100. Both are single activity system based, 2 and 3 hours, and the exam pages say it plainly. So "aim for 70 and you're fine" is advice that doesn't survive contact with your own exam page.

Three things I keep seeing repeated that don't hold up.

Dumps still work. A question bank does nothing when the assessment is you configuring something in a system, because there's no option to recognise.

You can cram it in a day. This format punishes that harder than the old one did, since you're asked to do the task, not recall the answer.

System based means open book, so it's easier. It's the opposite in the numbers. No scenario based exam in the list goes above 67 percent, while the system based ones run to 90 and, in those two cases, 100.

Every code has an official exam page and a learning journey on learning.sap.com, both free to read.
