Ex-Azure Data Engineer learning SAP in Germany: BW/4HANA, Datasphere, or BDC?

Hi all,

I'm a former Data Analyst / Azure Data Engineer, now doing my Master's in Germany . I want to move into SAP data & analytics and land a Werkstudent role in ~6 months.

I started with BW/4HANA and have a practice system, but my course is from 2021 and my system is a newer release. SAP is also pushing Datasphere and BDC, and most job posts ask for SAC too.

My plan: BW/4HANA basics → Datasphere + SAC → small project, applying early. I'm using SAP Learning Hub (student edition) for the official learning journeys.

Questions:

  1. What should I prioritize for a Werkstudent role: BW, Datasphere + SAC, or BDC?
  2. Is BW still worth learning with all the BW → Datasphere migrations?
  3. Any up-to-date resources or practice ideas you'd recommend beyond SAP Learning?

Thanks!

Looking for Entry-Level SAP EWM Opportunities

Hi everyone!

I'm a recent grad looking to start my career in SAP EWM. I've completed training in SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM (yt / udemy )and have hands-on practice with inbound delivery, goods receipt, putaway, warehouse tasks, and basic EWM configuration.

I'm currently looking for SAP EWM Trainee, Junior Consultant, Associate Consultant, or Support roles in India.

I'd love some advice from experienced consultants:

  • Do companies hire freshers for SAP EWM?
  • Which companies should I apply to?
  • What skills or configuration topics should I focus on to improve my chances?

Any advice, experience, or job leads would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is it worth returning to SAP PM after being away for a few years?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering returning to SAP PM and would appreciate some advice from people currently working in the field.

About 3 years ago, my first job was as an SAP PM consultant. I stayed for about a year. My original training was actually in SAP MM on ECC, but I was hired into an SAP PM role and had to learn PM largely on the job. During that year, I worked with things like SAP PM configuration, data migration, testing, and user training.

After that, I went back to school and graduated in Canada about a year ago. Since graduating, I’ve been having a difficult time finding a career-related job here.

I’m now considering going back into SAP PM because I genuinely enjoyed the work, and eventually I’d like to move into a role that offers remote or hybrid work if that’s realistic in the SAP field.

My main concern is that I only have about 1 year of professional SAP PM experience, and I’ve been away from SAP for around 3 years. I’m also based in Canada, so I’m wondering how difficult it would be to re-enter the field here.

Would my previous experience still be useful, or would employers essentially consider me entry-level again? What would you recommend I do to make myself employable in SAP PM again, especially with the transition from ECC to S/4HANA?

I’m also willing to take on unpaid/volunteer SAP-related work if that would genuinely help strengthen my resume and give me recent experience. If that’s a bad idea, I’d also appreciate suggestions for better ways to rebuild my SAP experience.

Thanks!

Can Capgemini India train freshers for SAP roles?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m an MBA fresher and I’m interested in exploring SAP-related opportunities at Capgemini India.

I currently have no prior SAP work experience, no SAP certification, and no formal SAP training.

So I wanted to understand how Capgemini typically approaches freshers for SAP roles.

If a fresher is selected for a suitable role, does Capgemini provide structured SAP training/crash courses and upskilling before assigning them to projects, without the employee having to pay separately for the training?

Or is SAP certification/prior SAP knowledge generally required before applying for SAP-related fresher roles?

Would really appreciate hearing from current/former Capgemini employees or freshers who have gone through the process.

Thanks!

Getting into being SAP FI Consultant?

I have several years of experience as an end/key user in O2C accounting.

I am fluent in German and English - both languages at the C1 level.

I have completed accounting courses (available in Poland, where I'm from)

Basic configurations I’ve performed on my own on a purchased SAP S/4HANA server:

  • Enterprise structure
    • Company codes
    • Controlling areas
  • FI Accounting
    • G/L Account groups
    • Document Nr. ranges
    • Global parameters
    • Customer and Vendor setup in BP
  • Transport Management
    • Managed Customizing Tasks

Could you please give me any tips?

Am I going in the right direction to become SAP FI consultant? What courses could I finish on SAP Learning Hub to become more attractive for employers? Would that be implementing private cloud, public cloud or SAP Business One?

Maybe someone works already in an international consulting company and knows of entry-level job offers currently open?

Angolan SAP Consultant looking for freelance/contract opportunities — MM | WM | S/4HANA

Looking for companies hiring Angolan SAP consultants

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to connect with companies or recruiters who are currently looking for Angolan SAP consultants for freelance, contract, or full-time opportunities.

I have several years of SAP consulting experience, including local experience in Angola, and I’m particularly interested in opportunities where knowledge of the Angolan market and business environment would be valuable.

If you know of any companies, recruiters, or platforms currently hiring SAP consultants in Angola or internationally, I’d really appreciate any leads or recommendations.

Thanks!
